Actually Barr was likely correct there. But NOW that Biden is president... NOW is the time for a special counsel.
I've learned some things from Mark Levin. Special counsels are PRECISELY there for investigations over those in power. You don't assign one to investigate Trump who's out of office! They exist to remove any pretenses of conflict of interest. So I could see why Barr made that decision back then. But TODAY is when the special counsel needs to be named.
Again, the special counsel is for those in power. Not to knee-cap your political opponent in an upcoming election.
