Syncro$400 Million per year just isn't enough

The guy who owns the Portland Timbers has been a family friend for as long as I can remember...super nice guy but not much of a soccer brain.  His father bought him the franchise as something for Merritt to do in the world.  Pretty sweet gig if your parents have the funds!

You definitely run in circles that most of us couldn't comprehend.

Either way it's cool that you decided to go slumming in the NH.   Wink

Funny story Scar...a few years ago, during Pride month the club was making custom jerseys with a rainbow color name/number.

My brother and I went to the team store, filled out the paperwork and waited in line...We get to the register, pay, then begin to wait for them to do the heat transfer.

After a few minutes the team store manager comes over and says "we need to refund your money, we can't make this jersey because we have rules against defamatory language and political statements."

If you know anything about the Timbers and particularly the Timbers Army you know this is a goddamn lie.  I politely remind him that the act itself of the rainbow print is in fact a political statement and that he should probably print the shirts.  He refused.  I told him I'd be back in just a moment, stepped aside and called Merritt and told him the story.  He had a good laugh and said to stay right there and he'd fix it.

A minute later the store phone rings, the manager gets on the phone, looks over at us, then hangs up the phone.  He walks over and says "they'll be done in 5 minutes" and stomped off like the petulant child he was.

Kind of looks like an old Hawaii Rainbow Warriors jersey (at least their old logo/helmet). Man did the Bible and Hawaii get their image stolen by the LGBTQIDSGS.

I thought that was kind of cool, or at least something different. Why do they have to ruin that?

Truth is stranger than fiction Dave…this one was a bit of an adventure.

Towards the end of the game security asked us to leave so there wasn’t a problem and there was a car waiting for us.

Trump is the most pro-gay president ever. He doesn’t give a rat’s ass if you have common sense. Pence and the fundamentalists disagree………freedom of opinion.

Loved the story and isn't that just the perfect ending?

They stole the rainbow and marriage.
The America, and the American Military, that you once knew is gone.

Bunch of hypocrites. You should've told security you were fine, and wanted to see the end.

Hey it's pride month. That means you should be wearing that jersey every day. That will mess with their teeny tiny closed brains.

I see your point, but when the owner of the club sends his security down it's best to respect his wishes.

We sure as hell weren't worried about a few Antifa nerds wanting to knuckle up, but it's also a numbers game. I'm a gambling man but a 1000 vs 2 fight only ends one way...

Because I'm a kind and thoughtful guy I grabbed a Portland Timbers koozie for one of you lucky guys.

First one to claim it can enjoy this piece of Portland history.  I'll even throw in a lapel pin that says "Please tell me your pronouns" to help break the ice with your new friends.

You're welcome!

And it has an Antifa axe to help breakdown storefronts. That’s really thoughtful.

It's all yours CB. It'll go great with those luke warm Bud Lights you're drinking along side a nice big bowl of bat soup!

I'm just going to address it to:

White Architect Guy
Beijing

I think it'll get there no problem. Sadly, you are responsible for whatever taxes may be associated with such a high-quality accessory.
