London cops just stood by while and passively those illegally blocking the roads, but only intervened when drivers got out of their cars and began to push the protesters out of the way. Of course, it was the drivers who got arrested. If the police had done their job and at a minimum removed the protesters from the road, then there wouldn't have been a problem.

I'm in favor of protesters being allowed to protest and I'm not a fan of vigilantism, but what should be done when the police refuse to do their job?

Compare this to Germany which has had similar protests. The German police, and some drivers, were quick to yank the protesters off the streets. And not so gently I might add.

They might not be doing the doughnuts while blocking intersections. You really don't hear about it (other than local news), the street races on the bridges. Innocent people get killed over that. Some odd time, like 3 AM. It could be a nurse driving home after a late shift or really anyone else.

There were a dozen old people, cops would have had no problem moving them off the road but the decisions come from much further up the food chain, that's where you go.
