Post your favorites and your least favorites. Your guilty pleasures, and your most hated.Â
You can post the good kind of Hair Metal, like Motley Crue and Guns and Roses. Or you can post the bad kind of Hair Metal like Winger and Bon Jovi. Or you can posts bands from the 70s that went through a Hair Metal phase in the 80s like Ozzy, Alice Cooper, Kiss, AC DC, Van Halen, etc. But if you do that, just make sure that you select a song from one of their Hair Metal efforts. Don't just post some random hit that they had in the 70s or mid-90s.Â
For something like Pantera, make sure you select one of their Hair Metal albums (pre-Cowboys from Hell). Don't just post Effing Hostile from Vulgar Display of Power because they were once a Hair Metal band. Same with Alice in Chains, or anyone else with Hair Metal roots (pun intended).Â
Also acceptable is Hair Metal adjacent stuff from the 80s. Like Def Leppard for example. They might not have technically been a Hair Metal band by the letter of the law, but they checked enough of the Hair Metal boxes to be sufficient for this particular exercise.Â
Oh and try to post the music videos when applicable, since it was such an MTV genre.
Yes stx, you get the green light on the New York Dolls. Go nuts.Â
