ScarletHayesWhy is the red/blue split basically urban vs rural?
#1
Why are cities deep blue?  Is it the dependent nature of city life, or is it simply that Dems set up their political machines where the people are and they're great at their "get out the vote" operations?

Dems may be socialist psychos, but they're very good at elections.  Setting up camp where most of the people are: what a novel idea.

GOP about naive stuff like appealing to people, good ideas, etc..  Dems know that it isn't about who votes, but who counts 'em.  The sausage making that matters takes place in the cities.

This is the TRUE split in America.

Most people vote their culture, because most of us don't understand monetary policy or foreign affairs well enough. But we all grasp the cultural significance of abortion, transgender, gay marriage, etc.

Always been that way, to some degree.

Rural prefers the "old ways" and tradition. Religion.

Cities have more variety and are more progressive as a way of living with the many different cultures and people you run into. More exposure. New ideas.

The problem for many Pubs, is that rural is becoming more empty and cities are growing.

Urban/Rural. Two different ways of looking at life.

One would think this would be the exact opposite. Everything is more expensive in the city. I guess other than mass transportation and you might not have to depend on where you live.

Demographics matter and race matters.  That is why the country is focked.  Anyone who can't admit that now is blind.

The racial divide is what is causing the blue/red areas. When 90% or more black voters vote Dem every election and 60-70% of Latinos vote D every election, it will do that.

Not all Latinos are the same, S American and Caribbean Latinos tend to vote 70% GOP, whereas Central American vote 70% D.

Plus the dems have the vote machine. They send armies of commies out to hud housing projects and will get 100% dem votes out of every household- but thats easy in apartment complexes; whereas in rural towns its not so easy, because things are spread out too much.

Most liberals who have never gone much beyond the I-3 digit outer belt are absolutely terrified of rednecks/people driving pickups and the Ds cater to their cultural fears and prejudices. Also, fewer urban people drive cars, or long distances, so they donâ€t give a ratâ€s ass about sane energy policy.
