Accumulating teachers that fit the Bible to your own views
#1
So true. Amazing.

2 Timothy 4:3-4
English Standard Version
3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound[a] teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
Anti-individualistic, the Fascist conception of life stresses the importance of the State and accepts the individual only in so far as his interests coincide with those of the State...

This is why it is important for denominations to have confessional statements of their doctrine and what they believe.  As per the scripture you quoted, many have moved away from sound doctrine and now we have the so-called non-denomination churches that freelance scripture and twist it however they want.  That is how we wound up with errors such as Christian Zionism and the health and wealth gospel and prophecy churches and the whole mess.

The obvious question is what IS the truth?  You and HT worship the same god, using the same book, but to read your descriptions of your god, you'd think you were talking about completely different beings.

Paul tells Timothy in the preceding verse chp 4:2,
“preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”
‭‭
So what is he to preach??
That is what he ends chp 3 with...

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Now the question is...what Scripture is he talking about?

I don't see anything in the Bible to justify HT's views regarding an entire segment of humanity.  I certainly don't believe that Jesus shares HT's views regarding Jewish people.

The original Bible, I presume.

Jesus called them the children of the Devil.

They were pretty mean to him; I understand why he'd hold a grudge.

Jesus does not really hold grudges.  Many were "mean" to him.  He never said such harsh things about them as he did the Jews.

Jesus as God is incapable of pettiness such as grudges. One of our problems is that our vision of God is too small.

Jesus spoke sharply to the Jewish religious leaders of the day because they claimed to represent Jehovah but had bastardized the system to their own satisfaction. They built rules on the Law and then added rules onto the rules.

Matthew 23 is a great example.

He spoke "sharply" to all of the Jews at the Temple who did not believe his words.
