A lot of Apple customers are IT security guys because Apple doesnâ€t sell/give info to the government or other corporations.

The government subpoenaed non encrypted data. By law they had to turn it over. They wonâ€t unencrypt data on your phone, so donâ€t put stuff unencrypted in the cloud.

Apple is left wing, they'd have zero problem with turning over anything if it could hurt the GOP.

There are two parts to Dave's statement. 1.  Apple is one of the most far-left woke companies in the US.  2. They may not just turn over anything to hurt the GOP, but their policies align with the Dems extremist agenda, and that could lead to them surreptitiously assisting the current administration far more than they would have assisted the Trump Admin. Let's not be naive about what probably happens behind closed doors.

1. They couldnâ€t because they donâ€t have a backdoor in their encryption.
2. They couldnâ€t for a Republican either.

Thatâ€s why they are used by people who care about security. They may be a “left” Corporation, but they are far less politically active than Google and Facebook and donâ€t let that taint their product.

They can't open a phone by bypassing their security?

Sorry I don't believe that.

No, they canâ€t. If you put a backdoor in your phone, a person with nefarious intentions will find it, and then bye bye goes your product and reputation.
