Sitting here in the living room and I'm watching a replay of the 1981 Clemson/S Carolina game. Yes, I just said that. That's definitely a sign of a guy Jonesing for some football. Anyway, about 8+ minutes left in the game, Clemson up 29-13, Clemson fumbles and an SC defender scoops it up and... and... the ball is blown dead. Can't advance a fumble in college football in 1981.  Are you ####### kidding me?!?!?!?!?!?!?!  It was gonna be a sure scoop and score. Â
When was that idiotic rule *mercifully* terminated? Â
They always say, especially pre playoff era, that it takes some fortune/luck to win a national title.  Can't advance a fumble??? Good grief.

We are getting close. Actually a couple decent games this Saturday.
Huskers vs Northwestern is worth watching, same with Wyoming vs Illinois.
And some late night bonus ball with Hawaii playing Vandy at home

The ill fitting uniforms/shoulder pads, etc...  The half jerseys. Though they weren't in this particular late season game. Â
I just can't imagine not being able to advance a fumble. What was the thinking behind that?

Ha -I have been so fing ready for College football. Reading all the hype and who is who and the rankings. Buckeyes are looking good. If Jim Knowles can get this defense top 25(they were 50-60 last 2 years) this Buckeye team may be unstoppable.
Buckeyes offense will be the best again. They finished #1 last year. I really think they will be better than last year. The return of Treveon Henderson who had 1400 yards and 6 yards per carry was huge. That was his true Freshman year.
CJ Stroud threw for over 4300 yards in 12 games is uncanny. That was a 12 game season because he sat out 1 game after Oregon. Bryce Young threw for 4800 yards with 3 more games.
Jaxson-Smith Njigba is the best slot receiver in CFB. He actually had more yards than Olave and Wilson last year. The returning receivers with Fleming and Emaka and Marvin Harrison Jr. is dynamic and add Stover, Rossi and Gee Scott TE.
The big ?? is the defense. I think our DL will be very good but we do not have 300 pounders except for Hall and Williams. The DE's are loaded. JTT-Sawyer-Harrison-Friday(6th year senior captain)
Eichenberg and Chambers are having a huge fall camp.
Coach Knowles is going to right this ship. Have no mercy. The Silver Bullets will be back.

Bama is going to be very good again. I think PSU will surprise some people. Wisconsin will have 2 deep RB's ready to pound and ground. SCUM will come to Cbus undefeated at 11-0 and think they are ready to beat Bama but they will never be battle tested. The schedule is so weak.
I see Buckeyes playing in the BIG Championship game against Wiskie.

Just something about college football that separates it from everything else. The tradition, the regional pride, the rivalries, coaching legends, legendary players, etc, etc, etc... you just can't beat it.

The community I live in has everything........lakes with gators and a marina village 2 min away from the house. This village is on the Cape Fear River with bars and restaurants and cool area for concerts under these live oak trees with spanish moss hanging. I saw one Saturday night there. WELL..............I found out at the concert that one of the bars is Buckeye backers bar with all the games..............I'm THERE.
