Yes they definitely have the best high school facilities and all. It is still a big deal there.
Our stadium holds 13k with a video board, field turf (practice fields as well). It†s considered just about middle of the road.

I know UM loses major talent, but they also have a pretty light schedule this year. They could easily come into THE GAME very highly ranked. All I know is that the Horseshoe will be rocking. Been 4 years since we hosted!
They better roll into that game at 11-0 or 10-1. I'd like a 2006 scenario, both roll in undefeated.

That's why OU and the texass schools have lagged a little behind the top SEC schools in competitiveness. But H.S. football as a cultural phenomenon? That's Texas all the way. Agree with Scarlet's take completely.

The only guy that recruits at Saban level. It'll be interesting to see if Day can sustain that.

In the mid 80s Texas HS football was off the charts fun to watch. Odessa Permian, Yates, and Groveton were the programs before the current Trinity, Katy, and Cedar Hill programs. I went to watch Odessa Permian play Plano and the crowd was easily over 20k. That was equal to any OAC DIII game I have been to.
College football too. SMU, Baylor, aTm, and Texas were fun venues; especially when a Big 8 team played a SWC team.
DC is a symptom, not the cause. The cause is basic voter stupidity and economic ignorance.

Having played in the OAC, I wonder if any of them not named Mount Union could beat North Shore, Katy or even Pearland or Lake Travis.. Manvel a few years ago had Kyle Trask as a backup to Deriq King. They had 11 D1 players that year.
My first thought is yes. But, I don†t know anymore.

I wouldn†t say Texas has lost anything as much as Florida has gained.

Traditionally the best high school football states are Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Florida. Texas probably tops the list. Y'all take it pretty seriously. Â
I think Florida has replaced Texas on that list. Maybe in top talent, but probably not popularity.
