I loved it when he did national games on TV.  Guys like he, Al Michaels, Keith Jackson and Dick Enberg just aren't replaceable.  Legends.

I know I'm biased, but Marty Brennamen was/is a legend in his own right.

Looks like he was the last of the sports announcers from my childhood. Keith Jackson, Vin Skully, Joe Garagiola, Herb Score, Mudcat Grant, Joe Tait, and Harry Cary.
The America, and the American Military, that you once knew is gone.

While this list is rare air indeed, Vin was head and shoulders above them all
but as a Dodger fan I am biased as well.  Still, I donâ€t think Iâ€m wrong

Vin had some GREAT moments to work with. But my love of him came from the times when he filled in during the not great moments. Good luck finding those…

Thanks.  I was just going to post that Gibson home run video.  One of those moments in sports that stands out as extra special.  The Natural and Roy Hobbs in real life.

Itâ€s his rhythm. He is sooo smooth. So nonchalant. compair him with the other guy in the booth who can barely contain his excitement
And Vin knew when to shut up too.
Vin. The only guy who would even DARE to work Tinker Bell into a MLB ball game play by play

And he knew when to talk and when to let the moment take over without comment.

Has there been a better walk off moment in baseball history? Two outs, bottom of the ninth, full count wounded batter,  stud reliever. Oh, and it was the World Series. I remember Gibson equally as well playing wide receiver at Michigan State.

Seems to me I spent more time with Vin Scully than my Dad. We had seasons tickets split between Dad and his two uncles during the Garvey years. We took a radio and listened to the echos of Vin from our seats. it echoed because you could hear the other peopleâ€s radios also playing Vin
When it wasnâ€t our turn to go, I would listen to Vin without my Dad

Well he's right of course. I don't know how this Socialism thing keeps popping up throughout history. It doesn't work and it never will.  And it's shocking to see our own government, excuse me the Democrats, pushing that direction.
