The Enemy of the People

There is no greater threat to the future of this country than the low down, corrupt, lying sacks of sheet known as the "mainstream news media." If there was ever a group of people I could get on board with shipping to the gulags, it would be these scumbags. F*ck them, every single one of them.

I donâ€t view Wiki as media….but I do agree that a large section of the media has sold their souls, integrity, and journalistic standards for a pot of gruel

No longer GroupThink 'woke'.  but it was fun while it lasted.

What Wikipedia has right now goes against the Federal Government's definition of recession:

Wiki
In economics, a recession is a business cycle where there are two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth rates or a general decline in economic activity.[1] [2][3]Recessions generally occur when there is a widespread drop in spending (an adverse demand shock). This may be triggered by various events, such as a financial crisis, an external trade shock, an adverse supply shock, the bursting of an economic bubble, or a large-scale anthropogenic or natural disaster (e.g., a pandemic).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recession

Gob'ment
What is a recession? While some maintain that two consecutive quarters of falling real GDP constitute a recession, that is neither the official definition nor the way economists evaluate the state of the business cycle. Instead, both official determinations of recessions and economists†assessment of economic activity are based on a holistic look at the data—including the labor market, consumer and business spending, industrial production, and incomes. Based on these data, it is unlikely that the decline in GDP in the first quarter of this year—even if followed by another GDP decline in the second quarter—indicates a recession.

Well pitch, you're both dumb and dishonest. So it's a coin flip on which of those caused you to misrepresent what's on the Wiki page. Could be a combination of the two.

lol.... So, since I'm the "dishonest" one, who's misrepresenting what Wikipedia has on their site, here is the exact screen that I copied from, still with the original area I highlighted to copy.  It is THE very first section of the body of the page, so how about you explain how I'm being dishonest:

Dude, f*ck off. I clicked on YOUR link and it showed something MUCH different than what you posted. But congrats. You have once again taken a promising thread and destroyed it with your trolling. That's your MO.

This goes without saying. But, if a student used wiki….they would fail immediately. But, good for discussion I assume.

Wiki is generally helpful for things that aren't political or social in nature, but no source can or should be entirely relied upon.

The current wiki edit basically dunks on the change in definition by the US by putting a little dig in there insinuating it's definition is ridiculous.

In any case, Wikipedia is actually awesome for research in the STEM fields. It is generally accepted as a legitimate source in most STEM circles. The best thing about Wikipedia is even if you can't cite Wikipedia, you just look at the sources they cite and then cite those directly.
