Herbert Hoover used military to disperse veterans wanting pensions and / or bonus from WWI in setting up camps in DC; Kent State incident.......couple off top of my head on isolated incidents of protest.   BUT, what these guys are referring to is not stopping a protest but taking over the entire nation by military force.  No, that has never happened and it won't.

Ike did federalize the guard in Arkansas,  AND JUST FOR YOUR INFORMATION they were most likely used as well.

On September 25, 1957, the Little Rock Nine attended Central High for their first full day of classes, under the protection of the newly federalized Arkansas National Guard and the 101 Airborne Division, who steadily withdrew as a dwindling number of state soldiers took full control of security by December.

If you truly studied military history, you would not discount the allegations against Eisenhower and his treatment of German prisoners which constitutes war crimes at the least.  There is at least as much evidence for it as the other "holocaust" but for obvious reasons, academia and the media suppress it.

I didnâ€t discount anything. I recognize it as a valid historical assertion and perspective. I also am not taking it as given fact. The “evidence” and its interpretation can be discussed and refuted. But, thatâ€s not this thread. So I am done with this tangent.

 "Looking at years in prison" is not the same as being sentences to years in prison.  There's a range of sentences for all crimes. If this guy didn't do anything dumb, like assault a cop, he won't get years in prison.

It's hilarious that people are so fired up about rioters being punished, but nobody cares that it only happened because Trump is a liar.
