Have you ever dumped friends over politics? Trump? - zigbee - 01-08-2025 I have. Did not want to argue or get into it. RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? Trump? - unc4corners - 01-08-2025 One of my best 3 friends is a liberal. I thought about ending the relationship over it but realized it was all on me. He doesn't care one way or another but I did. We are great friends so I bite my tongue and we never ever talk politics. He hates Trump and would vote anyone that runs against him. I'm country over personalities. He's personalities over country. RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? Trump? - Smoothmflikethat - 01-08-2025 And miss opportunities to listen to leftists fail to babble their way to a coherent point? No way. RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? Trump? - dunefan - 01-08-2025 I know what their politics are by there first statements in a political conversation and never discuss the subject with the libs. One guy I grew up with must think I'm a lib because I've never discussed politics with him other than say um hmm and OK. It just ain't worth it. RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? He has TDS and became hateful and insulting and I was stunned by his transformation. I look at it more like he unfriended me rather than the other way around. RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? Trump? - ScarletHayes - 01-08-2025 Well, many of these people have been gaslit into believing “Hitler” seized power. Not that he won an election or anything, or that he’s not, well… Hitler. RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? Trump? - Dzone1 - 01-08-2025 Nope. My aunt is a flaming liberal but love her to death. We don’t talk politics in the family, everyone knows where everyone stands. RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? Trump? - TakeThePoints - 01-08-2025 3vSooner dumped all of us "Trumptards" RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? Trump? - Blinky - 01-08-2025 I had some liberal buddies in Ohio that were TDS AF in 2016. I'd go over there, and the whole time they'd just be flipping back and forth between CNN and MSNBC, just stewing in their own juices the entire time. I felt like if they found out that I supported Trump, they were going to break out their Antifa masks and start pelting me with urine balloons. So I didn't go over there much after that, but still keep in touch with one of them. RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? Everything is politics and everyone with a different opinion is the enemy. There's no nuance or moderation. With both it's best to avoid politics or just tune them out and just say mm hm every once in a while until the topic changes. You can talk politics with more thoughtful less ideological people. I think his senility finally kicked in. They get mean when they get old. RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? You're the FIRST, without provocation, to insult the intelligence of those who dispute your views and the LAST to make amends. RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? So, basically the entire country. RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? Trump? - ScarletHayes - 01-08-2025 I don’t really think Trump (To be fair he did say Trumpers and not Trump) is an ideologue at all. More of a pragmatist. Rand Paul is an ideologue, but it just so happens that his ideology is correct. It’s not Utopia nor does it promise it, but freedom is as good as it gets, on planet earth, with idiot humans running the show. RE: Have you ever dumped friends over politics? Trump? - stxbuck - 01-08-2025 No. One of my best friends votes D now, but does it b/c he thinks his stock portfolio does better under Ds. He doesn’t really talk politics much anyway. |
