Free speech is dying a slow death.  I actually had some jackass on the OZone white knight for the board and tell me it wasn't a constitutional/free speech issue.  No *****?  Thanks...  dad.  My point of course was that who needs govt censorship when web pages are doing it for them?  Look, any board can set any rules they want.  I get that.  We all get that.  That said, don't cry to me when your board traffic bottoms out.  If ya want traffic, allow grown azz men and women to converse openly on MESSAGE BOARDS.  Ban the a-holes for being a-holes, but don't ban certain speech/topics---outside of agreed upon foul language/porn, etc...  

Banning religion and politics on a message board.   One of the clowns over there said they should ban hate speech too.  I responded that we should probably ban speech that makes us feel sad as well.  That brought out the white knights   Ayyyyye yai yai.  Grow a pair already.

We don't ban people here.  We discuss our issues like men and women should.

The SUREST way NOT to get banned from a discussion forum is not to engage in discussion.  LOL.  The next surest way is NOT to, so to speak, step on any toes.  In other words, don't challenge the presiding narrative of the community.  I've been banned on countless forums for pushing the envelope.  Usually what happens is the leftists engage in multitudes of personal attacks, which management permits to continue.  Then, when I would eventually respond in-kind, I would be banned for "personal attacks".  

It's certainly not restricted to message boards.   Hell, Twitter was actually shadow-banning Republican members of Congress.  Twitter should lose its legal status as a platform because they certainly don't act like a platform.  

Whether it's message boards, social media, college campuses, etc., the left always seeks to censor alternative views.

I've seen some conservatives call for leftists, leftists who have attacked me viciously and personally, to be banned.  I defended the leftists' ability to express their ideas, even unpopular ideas.  If one doesn't support the right to express unpopular ideas, even vile, repugnant ideas, then they don't support freedom of expression.  It's that simple.
