Tens of thousands of dead Americans and economic collapse is a small price to pay to advance the interests of the party. Â

Line from Trump's State of the Union address that did not age well: "“Incredibly, the average unemployment rate under my administration is lower than any administration in the history of our country.â€

Yes, they hate him, they hate average Americans, and they love this downturn.  IF OBAMA were in ?  They'd have every excuse ready. How about this angle: Lots of libs say the economy was due to Obama era measures, would they say the same about our current plight of people dying due to his lack of preventive pandemic measures?

One of the jerks yesterday quoted Biden who was blaming Trump for not being prepared for this. I wonder if he asked Biden why his admin. hadn't prepared for it in the preceding 8 years?

Not sure why people shy away from the term. Historically there is nothing communists have not done to subject people to their control and nothing they won't do. They will kill millions of their own people intentionally, including starving them to death, to force their submission. The media reports the negative consequences of corona with glee. They hope millions die if it gets rid of Trump. They will be giddy if they can report that 30% of the population is not employed.  They see it as nothing more than a chance to defeat Trump and put their people in power.

If I wanted to get technical, I would say that they're more fascist than communist. Much of the American left supports private ownership of industry, many of them simply want government to dictate to private industry, which is, arguably, the first tenet of fascism.

Fascists have generally been nationalists and pro country. America's communists/progressives hate this country and can't wait to remake it in their image.

That's true, but the first tenet of communism is government ownership of industry. The first tenet of fascism, I would argue, is (like the communists) rejection of free-market capitalism in favor of a system of governance and economics wherein government bureaucrats have the power to dictate to private industry as to what they must produce, how many they must produce, how much they can charge for their product, how many employees they must hire, how much they must pay their employees, etc. Â
As for nationalism, Abraham Lincoln and Ho Chi Ming were both nationalists, but had polar-opposite views when it came to governance and economics. For that matter, it could be said that every person who put on their nation's jersey, painted their face and screamed wildly for their team in the World Cup is a "nationalist". Â

They even hate the men who founded the country.

I don't know how many committed fascists there are on the left, but they are certainly FAR closer to fascist ideology than those of us on the right, no matter how much they try to redefine fascism. Fascism, like socialism and communism, is the EXTREME of leftist ideology on governance and economics. The claim that fascism is "far-right" is a lie that leftists ideologues and academics began spreading after the second world war as a way to distance themselves from the sins of their ideological comrades. To say that rejection of free-market capitalism and government control of every facet of society is a tenet of right-wing thought is an absurdly ridiculous lie. On the contrary, such concepts are the antithesis of right-wing thought.

Yea, I know. It's a lie and an absurd lie at that. Saying that "authoritarianism" is a tenet of fascism is an attempt to redefine what is fascism. Fidel Castro was an "authoritarian" but he certainly wasn't a fascist, he was a communist. Then we have leftists who call Trump a fascist. Trump might be the biggest capitalist to EVER be POTUS. LOL.
