Like the orange sherbet kind of push-up? Because 40 might be tough but I could battle thru the pain.

Doing 40 pushups correctly is very difficult. The pushups that most do such as cheerleaders at a football game are not in the same category. Not even close.

The push up handles are nice -The ones that are about 6 inches off the ground and allow you to go deep.

Anyone who can do ANY even modest exercise is better off than someone who can't. Walk through a Walmart sometime.
I can do 50 quasi-decent pushups, I'm cheating a bit late in the rep.

I typically mix in 3 sets of 25-30 pushups/squats/jumping-jacks between sets of my evening workouts (TRX straps and bike trainer). I've done 55 in a row, but form was probably lacking at the end.

We have a reasonably decent small gym in the building and I've been using that almost daily, with some running outside. It's a good thing. I've apparently lost 10 kg over the past 8 months or so.
