That's not what was posted in that thread.

The question from the congressman was specific to white supremacy.

The answer by Wray was not.

I'm capable of being wrong, but I read the quote several times and it lumps white supremacy in with several other designations.

The question was posed for political purposes.  The Director was obviously happy to play along.  The honest response would have been that the threat of "white supremacists" is nill.  

If someone can show me the plethora of murder that occurred in 2018 from all those white supremacists, I'll be happy to concede that I was mistaken.

Wray mentioned white supremacists and added vague hints at other groups.   To me it was clear that he was saying white supremacists were a major threat.  Outside of Don Lemon, there isn't an honest soul that buys that nonsense.

Murder, in general, if not a Federal crime, so not a concern to the FBI (with some exceptions). The crime stats are very clear that murder is a serious issue in the US. Nobody claims otherwise.

Saying the danger from white supremacists is significant is nothing new, at all. Every time there is a mass shooting or terrorist attack each "side" hopes it's either a Muslim or a white supremacist. And we have seen both. The death rate from either is statistically very very low as compared with "ordinary murder", which again is not the FBI's purview.

We average about 40 killings a year attributed to extremists. The number of "general murders" is of course far far higher.
