My OSU fandom is unwavering enough that it can withstand a little wokeness.

Good deal! Glad you are back!
That being said I would have true issues walking away from my love of sports. Itâ€s something I loved with my Dad, my Gram and a tradition I love sharing with my children. Watching two baseball teams I couldnâ€t care less about if I tried with two of my kids for the shear love of the game. I respect your stance but am unsure I could follow through.

I basically only watch College Football/Basketball. I rarely watch an NFL game except for playoffs. MLB and NBA just plain suck!!@@!!!

I just can't get over the time and place of the kneeling. You could raise your concerns at any other time, but you chose to sh1t on the anthem and the flag. The flag of freedom and free speech that gives you the right to speak your mind. I just can't get past not only the disrespect, but the utter stupidity of it. Even if the entire premise of your rant is BS, you have virtually any other time you want to make your point. Â
Man, remember the days when you were at a game and you forgot to remove your hat? People weren't shy about telling you to remove it. That wasn't all that long ago either.

Bitching about Day regarding BLM or whatnot is ridiculous. What, specifically, would the OP want him to say? Day hasnâ€t said anything controversial personally, and has given the team some room to vent.

So I can still feel comfortable about my interest in OSU sports. The professional sports world is nearly gone to me. I donâ€t even check scores anymore. I will on occasion check in on how an individual player may be doing, but thatâ€s it.

The Bengals are the only NFL team that hasnâ€t had a kneeler. I can watch them with pride.
As for the Reds, they are the soundtrack to the summer. Thatâ€s never going to change.

A friend of mine has persuaded me to reconsider. While there are a lot of lies, hypocrisy, and corruption in sports, there are also a lot of good people doing good things for others. It's rash of me to throw out the baby with the proverbial bathwater. One wouldn't shun their entire family because of the misdeeds of a family member or two, right? Take OSU running back Master Teague. He is the epitome of a fantastic young man who, incidentally, is also black. He's actually one of my favorite all-time players and it has nothing to do with his play on the field. I should watch and cheer on guys like Teague and ignore the bullshit.Â
Am I looking at this the right way?

I believe you are, K9. Itâ€s maddening to see and hear all the crap that is going on in sports and entertainment but youâ€re right that it isnâ€t all of them. Hopefully things will turn around at some point but I sure donâ€t know if it will.

Master Teague is a wonderful young man and I pray that he is successful this season.
