Day is damned if does and damned if he doesn't. Its the world he has to survive as a coach in. If he didn't "like" it, some ***** reporter would eventually ask him what he thought about it. Then he would have to go on record with some opinion or explanation.

It's easy to sit here and judge,  I don't have to cater to or appease anyone at my job. I don't have to navigate any racial issues, I'm not in the public eye.
Exactly. Do I think Day really gives a ***** about the fact that black men invented peanut butter or blood transfusions. No. Does Day appreciate the fact that one of his players is doing something positive/civically engaged even if it makes some old white dudes on the interwebz butthurt? I imagine he does.
Does Zach Harrison have a nuanced knowledge or appreciation of history-no, heâ€s a kid.

You need to lighten up my man. Getting stressed out over a college kid taking a black studies course isnâ€t worth it.

Should put "native american" as your race.

My son has a small amount of Sauk and Fox Indian in him from his mother's side. Something like 1/64, but still more than Fauxcahontus. I suggested he put mixed race on an application for a scholarship when he was in school. He didn't and the moolah went to some NY chick. It was for 7 or $8000.

And at the same school, but many years before, I got a scholarship of $5000 cut in half. The day I arrived at school, the professor told me that I was now sharing the scholarship also with some chick from NY. She was from some ultra-rich family. She arrived the same day in a new BMW that Daddy bought for her. I arrived in a Chevette.

I donâ€t know how old you are....but thatâ€s been illegal since 1964. Employers are not allowed to ask such questions without opening themselves up to discrimination suits. Itâ€s unsafe legally. If they do, itâ€s not required.

Edit. Iâ€ve had a few bourbons tonight. When I reread it doesnâ€t make sense.

Big point, if they ask itâ€s not required to respond on the application.

I don't have an issue with rich kids getting scholarships. I forget which kid earned a scholarship to play at UCLA. I'm thinking Snoop Dogg's or P Diddy's kid. He earned the scholarship regardless of his father's ability to pay.

My gf had a full academic scholarship to Princeton. I assure you she can afford to pay. She earned it with her grades in Japan's top HS and finishing Vassar in 2 years.

I was forced to join the military to pay for school. By the end of the midterm the 3 minorities who did receive scholarships were already washed out. I was called into the registrars office and notified I was getting a full academic scholarship. I was pissed. I already signed into the army. I knew 2 of the 3 minorities. I was assigned to tutor one of them but she thought partying with friends was more important than catching up in her studies.

My cousin applied online with a well known company. She marked down african american. She was then notified to come in person for an interview. When she got there the hiring person was confused. He interviewed her anyway. She was hired. One month later she was moved from 'the floor' to the office. 3 years later she is the office manager. It took her to fib about being african american just to get an interview. Fortunately, the dude was bright enough to see she would be an asset to the company.
DC is a symptom, not the cause. The cause is basic voter stupidity and economic ignorance.

Speaking of language studies, this cute young gal teaches Spanish on you tube and I have been sharpening up on my skills for my business.

Everyone should check her page out, she's got a huge catalog of lessons.

I have zero problem with anyone earning a scholarship. In my case it was both for academic achievement (which she fairly earned, she was ranked right behind me) and on economic need (which she did not have). I was trying really hard to not borrow money from my Dad to pay for my last year of graduate school. In the end, though, I did borrow $1000 from him to get to the finish line.

Trust me brother. I am VERY  relaxed!
