Moderna covid vaccine can kick your arse
#1
My wife got her second shot on Friday at 5pm and less than 24 hours later she was throwing up, running a 100-103 fever, super stiff neck and terrible body aches.  She compared it to a combination of the worst flu +worse hangover she's had.  If you and your spouse haven't gotten your first, I would suggest staggering them because you might be basically incapacitated for 12+ hours and will need someone to help.

In her case, Ibuprofen didn't do squat, but naproxen sodium (Aleve) did help.

My ex-wife who passed away from cancer last year got a flu shot vaccine back in 2008. I spring of 2009 she had to have a large lump in her left arm surgically removed because of the vaccine. She never had any reaction before from the flu vaccine.

So your wife had to take some IBU but Aleve works? I swallow 10 of them every day because I have a femur bone detorriating and need hip replacement but my surgery gets pushed back due to covid.

I have never had a flu vaccine because the death rate is low for me because I am in good health.

Here is article from CDC on Moderna vaccine:

I hope your wife feels better soon. God Bless

Oh great. Second moderna in a week and a half. Wife had second Pfizer yesterday. She feels like crap...fatigue mostly.

Just heard today that my step brother had issues as well.  This has nothing to do with my decision though.  I wasnâ€t taking it regardless.

I suspect these reactions are outliers, but thatâ€s just a hunch on my part

My goodness Moderna and Phizer gave these vaccines to over 60K people of all ethnicities men and women. Suck it up kiddies. You might feel a little sick. If you are getting the vaccine this early you are probably elderly or high risk.

If itâ€s tolerable avoid the ibuprofen or aleve. And if it isnâ€t try Tylenol first if itâ€s safe for you. Donâ€t take anything like that beforehand. The inflammation is the immune system reacting. You donâ€t want to blunt that.

Kinda sad really when a man is scared to take the vaccine makes his poor wife go first and she gets very ill.....most men go first like me and tough it out.[Image: giphy.gif]

If it's any consolation, it seems to impact older people less than young.

Yes.  My dad got it and he's fine.  My step bro, who's about 60, had some issues with it.

Well geez. That would have to be about every medicine known to man or person... what's the word we are using now?
