Alcohol is FAAAAAAARRRRRRR worse, and it's legal.  I have yet to see weed start anything resembling a bar brawl.

Yep. Alcohol is incredibly addictive. Weed is not.  Alcohol has virtually no medical value.  Weed mkst definitely does.  What it comes down to is this: HT likes alcohol, so it's ok for all of us.  HT doesn't like weed, so it's not ok for any of us.

This. Which is the essence of the populist/Trump pumper/old man get off my lawn political pov.

True.   For HighTop to maintain weed is worse than alcohol is just laughable.   Can he without the tired old propaganda line tell us why there are no AA like programs for weed like alcohol OR can he address why weed is NOT addictive and alcohol obviously is as listed with heroin, nicotine, etc?  come on, that is just BS.

NO ONE  is saying it's good to smoke it.  NO ONE.  But to say alcohol is not as bad?[Image: emoji23.png]   Laughable.

Maybe you need to educate yourself instead of getting your information about it from stoners.

I'm far more educated than you on this.   I've never gotten anything from stoners.  I've taken classes in college on drugs and been trained by State troopers on it here at school.  WHY DON'T YOU answer the question instead of worn out old nonsense you keep regurgitating that makes you look really bad right now.  TELL us about the clinics for weed and how addictive it is compared to alcohol.  Go Ahead.

Nothing wrong about discussion at all.  But lets be honest here, alcohol is a dangerous drug.  It's far more addictive and deadly.  It's killed MILLIONS.   How many weed smokers die from weed?  How many go to clinics to get off it?  How many go through withdrawal with shakes and DTS?  No one is saying weed is good for you.  NO ONE.

I'd rather hire a person who used weed often than an alcoholic.

A bunch of 'alcoholics' arguing over the dangers of alcohol.  Big Grin

Next up Jeff Spicoli informing us how smoking MJ is safer than surfing.

AND I agree you are wrong.  You back up ZERO here as I have with links, etc and if your childish attempt to just get the last word is all you want then it's pretty weak.  Alcohol is a FAR worse drug.  So far you are the only member saying MJ is worse.

A person who is certain of his beliefs has no need of evidence, or even logic.

Belief is dominant over either.

I have "read" that some folks are addicted to heroin and can use without outward symptoms.  The "self medicate" at a lower level and don't generally get a real high.  I don't know if this is true, I'm asking.

Heroin was developed as an antidote to morphine addiction, which was wide spread at the time.  I understand morphine was widely available late 19th century in various concoctions (preFDA).  A lot of women got hooked because they were bored, in effect, or so I'm led to believe.

I was curious what the next "least hard drug" after MJ might be (outside the cannbinol family).

Codeine?

If it can be done for any length of time I have yet to see that. The nature of the drugs mean you will need to increase doses to get the same effect. Biologically there is no escaping that. Anything harder than MJ just can't be enjoyed responsibly. First you are taking it strictly for the high so it isn't like a glass of wine or beer where you are mainly enjoying the taste as you will not get an effect from one serving. Secondly they are habituating so the high takes higher and more frequent dosing no matter what. It makes them impossible to be used recreationally in any way.
I'm not sure what would be next in line after MJ. In my experience the worst drug to try and be on is methamphetamine. Quickly addicting and incredibly destructive to the user on many levels.

I disagree.  I enjoy cocaine annually/bi-annually and have done so for over a decade.

Interesting about meth, I would have guessed cocaine. Your point about higher dosing is of course well put, I don't know if MJ users need higher doses for the same effect or not.

I notice my tolerance for alcohol increases when I drink, but I don't like being drunk. When I go a few days without any alcohol, one glass of wine will get me tipsy. I consumed a bottle of wine last night with no perceptible indication of being tipsy, though it was over about a 6 hour period.

I never liked the feeling of being drunk, much less what follows.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if those 116 fatalities involved weed and weed alone.

I think we can safely assume since they already have a classification for alcohol related auto deaths that the one for cannabis did not involve alcohol.  It is completely separate.  You guys are in denial to the point that you deny even objective statistical data.

You are moving into 3v/Pitchblack territory with that comment.  I supplied data from one legalization state showing dramatic increases in cannabis induced fatal auto crashes that will probably surpass alcohol related ones very soon.  I don't see where you have supplied any objective findings or evidence to support your position.

There are many examples of heroin addicts looking completely normal, but there are also cases of people whoâ€s appearance and demeanor may be very altered as a result of their drug use.
