The problem I see is within Medicaid. People with free HC treat the system like Golden Corral. Free visits and free RX.
I can see why doctors oversubscribe meds. They get capitated rates for these patients and probably feel I saw ya once , I know you want pills so I give you your refills , no need to take up a real appointment slot.
But still the geezers want to visit the doctor every 3 weeks and get pro athlete attention for every ailment or ache and pain.
Does the govt have to provide a defined benefit? Why not a defined contribution.
If you qualify you get $500-700 on in a HSA. You can use it for a visit , dental work , Rx. Whatever. That way it promotes preventative care but the consumer shops price and is selective
