One of the few current pop country acts I truly enjoy
#1
Country music, like most pop music, has become so predictable and formulaic that it gets tiresome.  My wife typically has that crap on in the background all the time.  Anyway, here's one of the few acts I actually do enjoy listening to:  Chris Stapleton seems legit/"real."  (one of you guys may have brought him up before, but I forget who it was) On that note, it makes me wonder how he ever got the opportunity to get big to begin with.  Whatever the case...  good stuff.   Cool

Awesome.

All the best modern country is throwback country.

"Pop" country hasn't really been any good since the 70s, back when the popular music that influenced it was still pretty good.

Dwight Yoakum was always a good throwback country dude out of the more mainstream 90s stuff, probably most famous for Guitars and Cadillacs in the Terminator 2 Biker Bar scene.

This chick does twangy throwback country from the vantage point of a crazy drunken homewrecker.

Top shelf modern day country diva.

Dwight is a Columbus native, and a tOSU attendee, if not alum. Part of the Appalachia to Ohio diaspora. Gotta love his band in Slingblade (one of the greatest movies ever, imo)
