None of them are declared candidates.  We will see a relative moderate in the race, perhaps 2 or 3.

They may have a more consistent base of support than some think.

Probability of Crooked Hillary getting the nomination is close to 0%. Schultz? Less than 0%. Biden has some chance, but not much. Anyone else?

They are willing to go pretty far to the Left on most issues.  Hillary was sounding like Bernie during the primaries last year.  And Uncle Joe was in complete support of anything Obama did.  These people are totally fluid.  Remember when the Clintons supported marriage and when Biden opposed forced school integration?

A moderate Democrat now is one who doesn't openly advocate for socialism and is willing to support abortion only up to birth.

In the 2018 midterm, 54% of all voters who cast a ballot for Democratic candidates called themselves either moderate or conservative.

I think Beto and Sherrod Brown could position themselves as more moderate than many who may run. A lot of this may come down to relative positioning, as opposed to actual politics.

That is you opinion and that is fine

It is not 1980 anymore when a conservative could win 49 states in a national election.  America used to be 80-90% white and at that point both parties had to be relatively sane to win elections.  America is now 60% white and dropping fast.  That means Democrats can pander to non-whites, preach punishing whites, and win elections.  Wait until whites are a minority themselves and then the fun really starts.

I understand all this.   Not arguing it's not 1980.  But it's not to the point that total radicals are going to win either.

Well zig, Obama won twice and quite handily and he was pretty freaking radical even with the media protecting him.  More and more radicals including socialists are showing up in Congress as districts change demographically.  Its only going to get worse.

Obama did not present nearly as radical as these new idiots.   Even he won't support them.  To win you have to appeal to some moderate dems who do not want high taxes and stupidity.

They just don't get the press time because the media loves a clown, and there are a number of those who take the air time.

Of the 20 or so announced candidates, name the moderate ones.

There are 10 announced. The key term here is "RELATIVELY" moderate.

John Delaney is RELATIVELY moderate. Tulsi Gabbard is relatively moderate.

And as I said, this comes down to positioning, taking out positions that are RELATIVELY more centrist than the others.

First off, EVERYONE thinks they're a "moderate".

If the economy is humming along come November of 2020, it won't matter who the Democrats nominate. Trump will carry the swing states and that will be the end of it.

Nominating a businessman such as Howard Schultz or Michael Bloomberg might be their best option.

See, a sure giveaway.  I ask Ala a question, and Cincy answers.  Forgot which sign in you were using, eh?

Schultz has said he would not run as a Democrat but as an independent. If he did, the Democrats would have a very hard time winning. I think quite a few would vote for him over a Democratic Leftists or Trump.

He could get 20% of the popular vote.
