Toward the end of Obamaâ€s second term, annual deficits for the full 12 months were only about $500-$700 billion. However, the situation is even more appalling than under Obama."

For the first two months of FY 2010, the first fiscal year of Obama, the deficit was $296 billion.  But that was amid the worst recession of a generation, with unemployment at 10 percent and people lining the rolls of unemployment benefits and food stamps.

Republicans agree to massive spending bill, despite record deficits

Wake up, conservatives. Do deficits only matter under Democrats? After record spending that makes Obama look conservative, what are Republicans doing? Cutting a deal with Democrats to pass a bill increasing spending by $320 billion for liberal bureaucracies but not a penny for stepped-up ICE immigration enforcement.

The Congressional Budget Office announced earlier this week that the deficit for the first two months of fiscal year 2020 was $342 billion. That is an astounding number on many levels. It is 12 percent higher than last year, when we were already shocked at how quickly spending had increased under Republicans. Revenues were also down sharply as a result of the recession and unemployment, buoying the deficits. Yet, here we are with record low 3.5 percent unemployment and record high revenue, yet deficits are even higher. Itâ€s all because both parties wonâ€t stop spending.

Whereas revenue for the first two months of FY 2010 stood at $269 billion, it was $471 billion for the first two months of this year. Yet spending for this year is at $814 billion as compared to $566 billion in FY 2010. What exactly are Republicans conserving?

Itâ€s a pathetic joke.  And theyâ€ve been getting away with it thanks to this damn shell game called impeachment.  The federal govt simply needs to be gutted to the foundation

What's new here? Collectively, the NH has agreed both parties are for spending... the difference is how each party spends the money.

The U.S. budget deficit through the first three months of this budget year is up 11.8% from the same period a year ago, putting the country on track to record its first $1 trillion deficit in eight years.

In its monthly budget report, the Treasury Department said Monday that the deficit from October through December totaled $356.6 billion, up from $318.9 billion for the same period last year.

Both government spending and revenues set records for the first three months of this budget year but spending rose at a faster clip than tax collections, pushing the deficit total up.

The Congressional Budget Office is projecting that the deficit for the current 2020 budget year will hit $1 trillion and will remain over $1 trillion for the next decade. The country has not experienced $1 trillion annual deficits since the period from 2009 through 2012 following the 2008 financial crisis.

I would be idly curious how much of the increase is related to entitlement programs where the Administration has little ability to control, and how much is due to an increasing number of Boomers retiring and receiving SSA benefits.

This is good point.  I can tell you the program which pays for disability in the SS ACT is abused.  Also, MILLIONS are also spent on kids for different types of things from autism to you name it.  Its so big people would find it hard to believe the federal gov't gives families money for this or that.  Much of it is BS.

And any move to fix the situation would make the attempt to take out Trump look like childâ€s play.  Democrats are dangerous and irresponsible, and the GOP, at best, are cowardly enablers
