Everyone once in awhile....

My opinion is that I don't give a ***** which activity he would prefer to do.

Where did you go to college?

Never been to Ikea. Could I get a synopsis of the instructions? Sounds like it could be fun , you know like a puzzle.

He's an oo of eh fan. Shithole U in Shithole AZ. Whatever he majored in doesn't require critical thinking skills I'm sure. Or maybe his brain is atrophied from living in the most boring place in the world.

Perfect!  I don't care which activity he would prefer to do, either.  And, if you were to start a separate  thread about reading Ikea instructions and if that activity is more similar to reading a book than watching TV, we would agree. That wasn't the case and your comments, because they are posted in this thread,  are taken in context; not in a vacuum.  So, that being reality:

When he said "cut the cord and read" you HONESTLY think he meant to stop watching TV and read ANYTHING solely because it involves the act of eyes moving across words?

Interesting factoids. American adults spend on average 5 hours a day watching television. Adult American men spend about 13 minutes a day reading for pleasure. That would seem to weed out those reading Ikea instructions.

Fuminori Nakamura-twisted Japanese horror/psycho stuff, w/ some Camus stylings

City Primeval, Detroit-my favorite Elmore Leonard novel

Ace Atkins is writing new Spenser novels, writes just like Robert Parker, good stuff

The Tiger, by John Valiant is just amazing-Russian history, geography, biology, and neuro-science mixed w/ straight up man vs. nature

As Far As My Feet Will Carry Me-Clemens Forrell- German paratrooper escaped from a Soviet prison mine on the Bering Strait and walked back to Germany! Complete and total badassery.
The McKinty books sound interesting I'll give it a try. I've already read all of Ace Atkins and who the hell hasn't read all of Elmore Leonard's catalog twice by now?
You wonâ€t be disappointed by the Duffy series. McKinty won all kinds of awards for them, but they went over the average James Patterson fans head, so his latest offering-not in the series-got dumbed down-maybe b/c it was set in the Boston burbs†instead of N. Ireland.

IKEA is a horrible place-like a Swedish Home Depot with zero customer service.

I walked into my home office last night and there was a paperback copy of City Primeval sitting on the bookshelf that caught my eye as I sat down at the computer. Of course somewhere in the house will be a copy of every Leonard novel.
