Government executing citizens...
#1
Still a bad idea.

Judge exonerates three men in 1983 ‘Georgetown jacket†school killing

Sarah Chestnut bought her son a gift in November 1983 of a popular Georgetown University Starter jacket, one that would become evidence to convict and imprison the teen and two other boys for murder.

Thirty-six years later, on Monday, the 75-year-old mother walked with some help across the street to see her son set free and his name cleared.

“Hey, mama,” said Alfred Chestnut, wrapping her in a hug outside Baltimore Circuit Court.

“My mama, right here," he told the crowd, “this is what sheâ€s been holding onto forever, to see her son come home.”

How exactly did the government execute any citizens in this case?

In the article there's a list of other cases where convicted "killers" were exonerated.  If you're going to execute, you better have a lock-down sure thing.  Eye witness testimony aint making it anymore.

Pitch kind of sounds like Schiff with his post title.

Pitch's title is only missing ellipsis ...

That or he could have included "still a bad idea" in his title

IMO, if there isnâ€t incontrovertible forensic or video evidence, prosecutors should take the death penalty off the table.

Agree.

Let me add as an aside that I always wondered how some of these prosecutors sleep at night.

I'd be good with this.....and I too wonder how people live with themselves for decisions they make.  But some are focused on advancement, on power, on money and don't care who they step on, or lives they ruin in doing so.
