A bit difficult to get too jacked up about a transfer from Rutgers. Has anyone from there ever made it to the NFL? He was honorable mention ALL B1G and a team captain. We lost 4 starters on the line. Yea, this is a big get.
Nah, not really. Maybe he'll strengthen the scout team a bit, but that's about it.
I'm just dicking with ya, k9. Of course, our white sheeted guy from Louisville was too dense to pick up on this.
Nice pickup, but not sure it's quite "boom" worthy. But we do need help on the OLine, so it can't hurt.

He didn't come to Ohio State to sit the bench when he could have gone to a lot of top schools.

The OL is really the weakest link that we have on the team. Anyone who can help to whatever degree is very welcome. If anything, it provides depth, as long as Stud doesn't screw it up.

1. He will be starter at LG most likely; he can plays center too
2. Rutgers has 4 or 5 players in the Super Bowl this year

Needing a Rutgers grad transfer to plug a hole for 1yr speaks to OL recruiting and development.

I'd be willing to bet he starts.

While it could speak to a bad trend, it could also just point to a hole in the process opened by injury or someone leaving early unexpectedly or something else.
Alabama had a WR transfer from Bowling Green 3-4 years ago that immediately started. Â
It happens.

A 22 or 23 year old fully developed offensive lineman with quality skills and several years major college experience is going to be way better than most underclassman and it is no shame to take a guy like this. Same can be said a quality JUCO player who might have been a late bloomer or who had a big growth spurt after high school.
