Everyone seems to believe this, but what evidence do you have to support this belief when, again, the worst Republican candidate ever just won despite the media being more against him than any Republican I can remember.
IF you can't accept the evidence of Clinton winning popular vote, Obama winning as a terrible candidate then you can just close the door in your room and continue to stay in the dark.   Trump was not the worst rep candidate ever either. WRONG.  McCain and Romney were far worse..AND some of it has to do with how the campaigns are run.   But to continue to acts as if the media is not an arm of the dem party or impacts elections just says your head is buried in a hole.   Continue....

The worst? There is not a Democrat or Republican candidate can can come close to beating him.

He has done more in 3 years than any two term president

Heâ€s done what others were too afraid to do.

It's like you have to hold him by the hand and lead him to each data point.  He'll now ask "then how did she lose the election?"

Both of you guys are missing the very obvious point and it's one that I made earlier. 90% or more of the media (online/TV) was squarely against Trump.  A huge majority of other well-known people (Hollywood/TV), with a public forum, were also against Trump, at least those that expressed an opinion.  No president in my lifetime had the media so much against him. Yet Trump still won the election

If the media has the influence you all claim it does, unless elections are scored like golf , how did Trump win?

Mid America/small town America is populated by enough conservatives/independents that they weren't swayed.

Then who's IS being swayed?

Think for a minute how many people would have voted FOR TRUMP without the negative press and lies told about him.

We have no idea.  Trump was an absolute d-bag and turned off a lot of voters with his dishonesty and behavior.

You are looking at this backwards.  The easily swayed are the majority (and gets bigger daily with all the illegals coming in) and will do whatever the socialists tell them.

The majority can be swayed, but wasn't swayed despite having the full force of the media/hollywood clearly pro-Hillary/anti-Trump?

It's the independent voter that make the decisions on these elections.  They still populate enough of the states that the lies haven't mattered yet.  Stop the lies in the press and Trump is easily re elected.  Probably will be anyway because the socialists have way over played their hand.

You are correct that the "independent" voters, or at least those that aren't perched in front of Fox/CNN all day, just waiting to check the box next to the R/D candidate, DO determine the elections.  Trump won a lot of states that he had no business winning.  Trump, if what many people are alleging about the media is true, had no business winning... yet he did.  Why?  If the MAJORITY can be swayed by the media as easily as it's being alleged, then Hillary should have won.

I believe there was a lot of anti-Hillary votes out there.   She also refused to go to the swing states.  The beotch assumed they would all vote for her.  I'm sure a lot of the socialists stayed home thinking the hag would win without their votes.  There are multiple reasons the negative press didn't kill Trump.  The hag killed herself this time around.

The question you have to ask yourself is:  By golly, how many votes would Trump have won by if the press and the socialists didn't lie and give 90% negative press?  You admit the press was negative to the extreme.  It didn't work (even with the extra 3 million votes given to the hag).  There were a lot of smart people who weren't swayed in the middle of the country.  It was an utter failure.  Unfortunately, they didn't learn any lessons and they continue their lies.  They have way overplayed their hand.  Also, the IG report will be out any day and I think there will be he11 to pay once the facts are known.

Ok, you roll with the popular vote and I'll roll with the fact that he WON THE ELECTION.

No R candidate has been opposed by the media like Trump was.  He was also his own worst enemy with his childish behavior, flip-flopping, blatant lies, history of misogyny and no political experience... he still won.  Obama, if you were a person that spent your time listening to Rush, Hannity and watching Fox News appeared to be a terrible candidate.  To the rest of the country, aka the people who don't spend their days getting brainwashed by Fox, CNN and MSNBC, , he was a good candidate. Certainly appeared much better, to the average voter, than Hillary or Trump by a mile.

Registered voters are basically divided equally into Rep, Dem and Ind.  Most of America doesn't spend their days on political chat forums or scouring Fox, CNN/MSNBC for the next reason for faux outrage about the other party/candidate.  Most Americans watch debates, watch some news channels and do their own research to decide who they're going to vote for.  IF the MSM impacted the majority of voters the way is asserted, there is no way Trump wins.  But voters aren't as dumb as you and others believe.  They aren't just pawns for the media - Right or Left leaning.

Link?

Your head is buried in the sand.  Popular vote for old granny to win?  All media, and you are neglecting NY TIMES, LA Times, WaPo, etc.  All in it for dems and this helped Obama win 2 terms and Clinton almost pull of an upset of a guy who worked his tail off to win.

This topic/argument is a really gray area topic because both views are right and wrong.  The media does still hold a ton of sway but that influence is waning by the day.  Which is a good thing.

Example of media's power:  1.  Obama.  He was never a good candidate by any objective measure.  A brief look at his "qualifications" and history would have sent that clown packing along the lines of a Beto campaign.  The media buried the dirt and played up the first AA angle and the Kardasian watching public ate it up by the spoonful.  2.  Trump.  Like it or not the popular vote is an objective measure here. The evil, vile, wicked hag that Ma is still got 3 million more votes than him. That said, as I mentioned their influence is waning by the day.

Example of the media's slipping grip of influence:  1.  Trump.  In any other campaign in the history of campaigns the "grab em by the kitty cat..." line would have ended his campaign, but it didn't end his.  A confluence of circumstances in middle America allowed him to thread the needle despite losing the popular vote.  One of the circumstances is/was #fakenews.  Trump played that up to the hilt and it helped push him into the White House.  The people saw and now see how utterly dishonest and one-sided the MSM is/are.

Lastly, let me remark on Trump's lies.  Trump lies/exaggerates, more often than not, about silly things:  the size of his hands, maybe his golf score, how his hotels have the best this or that.  etc...  Obama lied about your health care and setting up the Iranians to nuke up.  Kind of a big difference.  Voters in middle America were more than willing to overlook Trump's buffoonery to elect him over another globalist selling their interests down the river, all the while smiling to their face and telling them it was good for them.  Middle America knows bullshit when it sees it.  Ask West Virginia, which flipped from dark blue to dark red overnight.

Anyway, yes the media still holds a lot of sway.  Especially over those that rarely pay attention.  Yet it's also true that they do not hold as much sway as they once did.  Barring a major foreign policy blunder or economic downturn, Trump will win re-election in spite of the MSM.  Trump and Reagan are/were the 2 exceptions to the rule.  Reagan mostly because he won the popular vote as well.

Speaking of just the candidate Trump and candidate Obama.  Obama, as a candidate, presented himself as a good candidate.  Did he, and his party, do some insanely shady/crooked things in office?  Absolutely.  But candidate wise, Trump was a freaking joke.  A caricature of a candidate.  If National Lampoons ever did a movie about a presidential candidate, they would use Trump as inspiration.  That's why I said he was the worst CANDIDATE ever.  Nobody was as nonsensical, childish, embarrassing, etc than candidate Trump... His saving grace was that he was running against the SECOND worst presidential candidate in history.

The problem you are having with Trump and the parts you are overlooking concerns what he addressed: immigration, jobs, putting America first cutting taxes...those things were not jokes or caricatures or anything stupid.   They are real issues people care about.

I'm not overlooking those items at all.  Immigration and terrorism were two of the primary reasons people voted for Trump (despite the MSM/Hollywood's historical push against him).  It doesn't change the fact that Trump was an embarrassment as a person/candidate.  He just greatly benefited from the Left's tone-deafness and the fact that their candidate was the second worst ever.

How was Bill Clinton any better?  Rape?  Molestation?  Exposing himself?  Infidelity?  It was all known yet he was elected twice?   The ME#2 movement is blasting him now...

Bill Clinton was accused of a lot of things and there was very likely truth in many/most of those accusations. Kind of like Kavanaugh, we'll never really know for sure.  But, Clinton was charismatic and "Presidential" for the most part.  Trump behaved like a monstrous d-bag on a daily basis while campaigning.  He has little tact, class or professionalism.
