Bid to end DACA now in front of Supreme Court
#37
The Trump administration has a new plan to solve the immigration quandary that shut down the government last week.
According to a proposal released this evening by the White House, Trump is prepared to give a path to US citizenship to some 1.8 million undocumented immigrants known as Dreamers. All came to the United States as children, and make up a much larger group than is currently protected from deportation by the existing Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA.
This is the most generous offer the president has put on the table so far, and one thatâ€s sure to please the majority of Americans who believe Dreamers have the right to live where they grew up. But Trumpâ€s asking for a lot in exchange.

Trumps proposal can clearly co-exist with current temporary protection provided by DACA, so what's the point of overturning DACA (other than it was the creation of Obama/Dems)

The American public has clear-cut opinions on both issues at the center of the current debate on immigration policy. A large majority (74%) favors granting permanent legal status to immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally when they were children, but 60% oppose a proposal to “substantially expand the wall along the U.S. border with Mexico” – a longtime goal of President Donald Trump.

These places over sample for a 'forced' result. It reminds me of the latest attempt by Fox to show Biden has a 10 point lead over Trump.

The Dreamers wonâ€t come cheap.
Letting people who came to the US illegally as children remain in the country lawfully would cost taxpayers $25.9 billion over the next 10 years, the Congressional Budget Office estimates.
Many of those who benefited from the Obama administrationâ€s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program will be eliglble for Medicaid, food stamps, education funding, and other programs, the agency said in a report Friday.
The outlay would total $26.8 billion over the next decade — but the estimated 3.25 million dreamers would contribute only $0.9 billion to the tab, the CBO said.
Trump earlier this year announced plans to axe DACA, which President Barack Obama instituted as an executive order.
Trump president has urged Congress to pass legislation that would reinstate the protections.

Legalizing DACA would increase debt spending. Wasn't p!tch recently whining about Trump not fixing the out of control spending?

Another 3v style fail.

ok.  you find a "reputable" poll, in your opinion, that shows results that you think are correct.

That's two posts that don't answer the question of why DACA has to be rescinded to implement a permanent solution.

I don't do polls of any kind. Check out the current AP/Coaches Poll to see why.

I'll try to make this simple. Ozero's EO is not constitutional meaning it's not legal. If you need further explanation I suggest Ovaltine.

Odd, p!tch constantly talking about cops being above the law while wanting DACA to remain enforced making these folks above the law.
