No. 1 Ohio State will be without its starting two defensive ends on Saturday when Maryland comes to Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes released their weekly status report on Friday for the game against the Terrapins and junior [b][/url][b][b][b]Chase Young[/b][/b][/b][/b] and senior [b][b]Jonathan Cooper[/b][/b] are both listed as "out."
Cooper's absence is not surprising, as the defensive end has played in just two games this year -- Nebraska and Michigan State -- due to an ankle injury. The news about Young certainly shocked Scarlet and Gray fans after Ohio State announced a suspension for the star defensive end.
A statement from Ohio State on Young read: "Ohio Stateâ€s [b][b][b][b][url=https://247sports.com/Player/Chase-Young-83154]Chase Young[/b][/b][/b][/b] will not play in this Saturdayâ€s game between the Buckeyes and the Maryland Terrapins due to a possible NCAA issue from 2018 that the Department of Athletics is looking into."
