You have no idea if it would work.  You also have no idea if, in the future, the guy would be able to get a better paying job.

Maybe  it's because you're all a little older that you put so much value on $1,900 and not parenting.  Weird.

And the best solution is to take away the children's father for 2 years.  Brilliant.

Many men are incarcerated and taken away from their children. Your juvenile, entitlement mentality is expected.

Of course they are and that is fine if the situation warrants it.  I don't think $1,900 in unpaid court fees warrants a year/years in jail while your kids don't have a father.  Like i said to Zigbee, maybe you guys put more value on $1,900 than I do.  Did you go through the Great Depression?

If that's how you feel about $1900, then you should pay the debt for him.

He isn't going to jail for 1900 dollars. He's going to jail because he committed robbery. Part of the sentence was 1900 dollars. He can pay the 1900 or spend more time in jail. But the time in jail or the 1900 is for robbery.

100% wrong. He was already punished for the crime he committed.

It would be different if he had a decent income and just refused to pay.  It's utter stupidity to punish someone who can't pay.

Nope. Part of the sentence was court costs. Not completed. Wrong again. No robbery, no 1900 dollars.

Just because there are fees for a public defender and other court fees doesn't mean it's part of the punishment. It's part of the process.  And, even if it was, it's ridiculous to punish someone who doesn't have the means to pay.

That's some kind of stupid there. How about don't do the crime if you can't pay the consequences.

This is typical Republican dogmatic stupidity. Let's pay $30,000 a year to force a guy to pay $1,900.

Hilarious.

Part of the process? So if he's found not guilty he has to pay the 1900? Nope , wrong again. And it's BS anyway. Even this guy, even you or a sociologist, could pay down 1900 bucks over the better part of a decade.
Also if everyone knows that there are no consequences for not paying then it will cost far more than 30K.

Nor do you and the people didn't elect you to judge.   It's your OPINION what will or won't work.  Judge decided.  Over.

Really, hmmmm[Image: emoji848.png]....seems you pitch the same type of argument daily to me for the criminal to be set free and how abusive law enforcement and courts are.

I bring situations where there is poor behavior by the government, yes.  Nobody's going to bring up situations where a guy is seen on camera robbing a bank and goes to prison for 5 years for robbing a bank.
