Brian Kelly has spent his entire coaching career in the Midwest, yet he still hasn't figured out what he needs to do if it is raining.

I was pulling for ND - lesser of the evils, but itâ€s close. I was listening to the game on the radio. Notre Dame still has its arrogance. They were talking about Michigan and Notre Dame not playing next year or until like 2033. One of the Notre Dame announcers said “well Michigan needs this series more than Notre Dame “.
They can never be too arrogant.
Scum announcers were probably saying the same thing in reverse. They are equally as arrogant.

Better that Michigan won. Strengthens conference rating and now, a Michigan loss (not that it's likely) won't prevent OSU from getting to the CFP, which is all that matters to me. Win next 3 games and the B1G title game, and we're in.

Quite true, from a “business of football “standpoint. Still though, I canâ€t root for Michigan at any time ever. And I want to pass their winning percentage.  We are close.

Yes, there is no reason to "root" for Michigan.

Our rooting interest has absolutely zero impact on the outcome of the game.

As a CFB fan, half the fun is rooting for your team, and the other half is rooting against your rival.

If you root for your rival to win, then you are basically screwing yourself out of half the fun of being a college football fan.

Now if the Wolverines go onto win the game anyway, that's when you can point to the "silver lining" that it improves strength of schedule, improves the perception of the Conference, etc. This way you "win" regardless of the outcome of their games; either because Michigan lost or because Michigan's win helps OSU on paper.

Nothing is more futile than getting mad at your fellow Buckeye fans for rooting against Michigan. Even if we all held hands and sang songs and rooted for Michigan to win with all of our might, they still would have lost to Wisconsin and Penn St by the exact same margin.

Maybe you guys can help me out here.  I was at a party last night and the game was on in the background.  Couldn't really hear anything.  Ok, so was that a blocked punt or not?  Even on the replay it looked like a blocked punt, and then UM recovers and they awarded them the first down and I was like, whaaaat...????  My cousin (UM fan) text me that the punt was never blocked, but my eyes definitely saw a blocked punt.  What gives?   Confused

ND guy got a hand on the ball being punted.
Once it crossed the line of scrimmage if it just rolls until blow dead or touched by a Michigan player downing the ball its ND ball. However once a ND/ Mich. player touches it ( Which 2 did) it becomes a live ball . Both ND players failed to secure the ball before the play was blown dead thus making the ball a fumble situation allowing whoever recovers it their ball at the point of recovery. Which Michigan did.

I was always more or less under the impression that a blocked punt is similar to a tipped pass.  Once that thing is blocked it is a free for all and will be the kick blocking team's ball regardless.  I mean how does ND "fumble" the ball back when they never established possession in the first place?  Now of course muffed punts result in turnovers, but I never really thought about blocked punts skipping along the ground like 15 yards past the LOI.  I guess that sort of makes sense though, because if the punt rusher got a piece of the ball but it still went 30-40 yards airborn down field and the kick returner muffed it, that would then be a turnover if the kicking team recovered.

I guess the fact it was blocked threw me off a little.   Confused   Now that I think that through it is starting to make sense.  I just want to be clear though, that punt was definitely blocked, right?  I wasn't just seeing things?

tOSU is in regardless what the rest of the weak ten conference teams do. A 13-0 tOSU is 100% going to the playoff. Want proof? Look at Clemson. It will go 13-0 and it won't matter the ACC is as bad as the PAC 12.

All this SOS is burfle. Win the games and nothing keeps a team out of the playoff. Only the 'mighty' SEC gets points for SOS. I still don't know why Bama even stays in the SEC these days. It's 47-3 vs the rest of the conference since 2014. Only two teams have beaten them - AU and Ole Miss 2x.

Those were Harbaugh and Kelly tears. So much whining to the refs.
