Iâ€m a pretty realistic fan. I donâ€t think Oregon would beat Georgia, Bama, LSU, OSU...
I think Clemson/Oregon is a coin flip but definitely winnable for Ducks. I havenâ€t seen enough of Penn St to know, but Iâ€d assume PSU would be a 6-8pt favorite
Iâ€d much rather Ducks play a winnable game at Rose Bowl than get smoked in a playoff game.

I mentioned this exact point last season and was called out. It turned out to be the correct situation for the 2018 tSOU.
Think about that for a second. 13-1 with a Rose Bowl win and it's not good enough.

That 4th spot was going to either OU or OSU. I really don't think either side had a clear case over the other, so I didn't whine much. OU and OSU were basically the same team with very slight differences -- explosive offenses while playing very little defense. OSU/OU was a coin flip for that final spot.Â
Don't get boat-raced by Purdue. Live and learn.

And the 2017 tOSU defense ended up championship caliber by the USC Bowl game. I blame Meyer for keeping Davis/Schiano on staff. He had to know.Â
I'm hearing Rutgers is trying to get Schiano back while keeping the entire staff in place. IF, and that's a really big IF, it retained Ash as the defensive coordinator, I could see Rutgers winning 6 games a season.

Yeah, while I wish we had made the 2017 playoff(last year we would have been embarrassed because our defense didn't have a clue), I had no real argument.....don't get beat down by Purdue or Iowa. We lost whatever claim we thought we had when that happened.

Would this same mentality go for UGA? I watched that entire game. SCe manhandled both lines of UGA. It should have ended in regulation, too.
UGA does not deserve to be in the playoff talk even if it miraculously won the SEC.
SCe is 4-5 and lost to Tennessee - yes, that Tennessee - by 3 touchdowns. It plays App St, A&M and Clemson. SCe could be a 4-8 or 5-7 team. That alone should eliminate UGA from any playoff talk.
For the record, UGA is one of my top 5 favorite teams.

I think it relates to all the folks being related in some way.

I think it relates to a collective inferiority complex where too many people's self worth is tied up in a sports team.

I just saw where LSU just lost their OLB for the rest of the season, dismissed because of disciplinary reasons.

And what I refer to as 'Sherman Syndrome'. It's not as bad as in the 1980's but when I played tournaments on teams North of Delaware we were always called 'Yankees'. One dude actually got angry because we created what is known as the 5th infielder. We pulled one outfielder to play in the infield. This had to be done because composite bats are shaved or rolled which allows the ball to get through the infield much faster. The coach from a team from Virginia said "It's cheating". Funny, his players were tampering with bats which is cheating but he accused us of cheating because we neutralized the bats by adding one infielder. It forced the batters to actually have to hit gaps which they couldn't. We won. I told the dude "We also throw to our tight ends". He didn't like the comment.

As long as Joe Burrow is playing LSU has a shot at the NC.

Well the Ducks did the committee a favor last night...
I assumed it would be a pretty close game, the Ducks have a history of losing in Arizona. Offense was totally anemic for 2.5 quarters. Herbert looked way below average and the secondary gave up way too many big plays to ASU receivers.
Civil War next week against the Beavers, then on to the Championship game against Utah, a game I expect them to lose.
Looks like the Ducks are headed to Alamo Bowl against the B12 #2 team

Tickets to the 2020 tOSU game should be easier to get.

Autzen is quite a bit smaller than Buckeye fans are accustomed to. Somewhere just under 60k.
Eugene is a great town and well worth a visit, if anyone is considering making the road trip
