If you support a confederate monument do you oppose black freedom?

Do you know the historical value of these statues? Most were mass produced, and sold to small towns. Like the one on the Tar Hole campus, they have 0 historical value and depict  a unknown Confederate soldier. The biggest producers used Southern bigotry and insecurity to make money.

Why not just leave this up to the localities?

I cannot for the life of me see how history is diminished if they all disappeared.

Put'em in a cemetery or museum and be done with the issue.

It is being left up to the localities and many of the areas affected are run by cucked liberal Democrat leadership which looks the other way when vandalism laws are violated.  Plus they give in to every demand blacks make because that is how they win elections.

The saddest thing of all is how people think this demand by the Left and their pets of getting rid of some statues is going to be the end of it and everyone is going to live happily ever after it is done.  It is not.  The demands are only going to increase and get more and more absurd and destructive.

Not disputing that at all. What I am disputing is that confederate statutes represent some sort of racial overtones.

In MANY cases, I believe the original intent of many of these was to convey racial undertones. WE can do this and you black folks go to the back of the bus. It did have an intimidation factor ca. 1955. Check out when many of these were erect, about the time the battle flag was incorporated into state flags.

I don't know about many but I'm sure that there were some. So would that mean that everyone has to be torn down? Some don't even know what a statue means or has stood for other than saying it's racism.

I kind of read between the lines when you said "I cannot for the life of me see how history is diminished if they all disappeared". Although I wouldn't object if they were put in a museum or cemetery that broader question remains is why even do that. There probably would be objection to that also. Point is when do you say enough is enough? To me it doesn't matter because I don't have a claim one vs another. Also a lot of these statues were built with private funds and sit on private land, but there are some also that sit on public land so how would you weed that out? Getting it to a museum or cemetery and setting it up is not easy/cost free.
