The racial component, ensuring the jury looks like the defendant is not constitutionally required. If that was the aim/purpose of "jury of your peers"... eg finding 12 peers to judge a black bi-sexual female with a PhD from Yale, has 4 kids, divorce and remarried, who earns $800k/yr and owns a home in a prestigious neighborhood would be an impossible task. Defining traits that ensure/satisfy the "peer" component of a jury was met are never ending. Generally speaking, the jury pool reflects the community. Baltimore jury pools will be different than Madison, WI jury pools.
True. I just figured his lawyer(s) would be good enough to get at least a couple of black men of similar background on the jury. Makes me wonder if my hunch on it being a PD is accurate.
