Did either watch OU football in the 70's, 80's or 90's?
I did.  Switzer's defenses were awesome.  He used to drive me to distraction by winning the toss and electing to kick off(giving the opponent an extra possession, as the other team obviously would get the second half kickoff as well).  His liked his defenses so much.  He did this even twice against Nebraska when they were both top ten teams.  One Nebraska game OU did not allow them across midfield the entire game.  Don't know if I have even heard of that before.  Yes, OU used to have some salty defense.
(Of course I am sure HT would say they never played anyone even then.)

(Some of you guys listen to ESPN too much.  The SEC defenses don't fair too well against big 12 offenses either)

In my lifetime no program had better defenses year in and year out. I started watching cfb in 1973.
DC is a symptom, not the cause. The cause is basic voter stupidity and economic ignorance.

Yes.  I am afraid the  Mike Stoops era of "defense" will taint OU's image for some time.  they have to earn it back.  Grinch is starting that process.

I actually can appreciate good football; especially defense when I see it. It's tougher to defend offenses these days, but OU seems to be heading in the right direction.
