The biggest key to Ohio State beating Clemson is the defense of OSU.  IF they hold down the Clemson offense and sack Lawrence and disrupt them the Buckeyes win by 10 points. If the Tigers can pass and throw it the score will be inflated since I think OSU will score on Clemson somewhere in the 30s.  Overall the team who is more disciplined will win and lets be honest, OSU is DUE to beat the Tigers at some point.

If there is any Buckeye team that could play with and beat the best opponents itâ€s this one. A win over the defending national champs who are 28-0 team would be another huge win.
Hopefully the adversity from Wiscy will help this team as they face top talent.
Fans are nervous because Ohio State has a history of losing big in big games... under Cooper, Tressel, and Meyer. Although the Bucks are a much better offensive team under Day and a better team all-around, those games (41-14, 31-0, etc) linger.

Rutgers just received a commitment from Ohio State transfer safety Brendon White. The transfer was predicted in a crystal ball choice by 247Sports analyst Bill Greene last week. white announced the transfer via a tweet this morning.Â
“White has the versatility to play either free or strong safety in Schiano's defense and he will have one year of eligibility remaining,†said Greene in his crystal ball article. “As a sophomore, White had 46 tackles and one interception. He is a sure tackler that has the ability to cover ground in the backend of the defense, and White will be familiar with what Schiano wants to do defensively.â€

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Ohio State is two wins away from winning the 2019 national championship. The second-ranked Buckeyes will take on No. 3 Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl on Saturday as one of the College Football Playoff semifinals.
The Buckeyes got to the Playoff thanks to an undefeated regular season. This included a three-game stretch against top-15 teams -- Penn State, at Michigan and Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game -- to end the year. That stretch will now extend into the Playoff where the Scarlet and Gray will face the only team in the country with a longer active unbeaten streak in the Tigers.
According to Westgate Sportsbook in Las Vegas, Ohio State is a two-point underdog in this Playoff game. As we have all season, Bucknuts is asking you if you would take the Buckeyes against the spread against Clemson.
What you need to know
There is a narrative around the country that Clemson hasn't played anyone this season after competing in a dreadful ACC and therefore isn't tested. While that can certainly be argued, that does not mean the Tigers are not one of the best teams in the country. In fact, it's clear watching Clemson, who won each of its last eight games by at least 31 points, that this team is supremely talented and took care of business each week.
Offensively, Ohio State has not seen a group like what the Buckeyes will line up against on Saturday. The Tigers are ranked third in total offense and are led by sophomore quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who was expected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft even last year. After throwing multiple careless interceptions early in the year, Lawrence got it together and put together a fantastic season. The quarterback threw for 3,172 yards and 34 touchdowns with a 68.8 percent completion percentage.
Lawrence's favorite target this year was sophomore wide receiver Justyn Ross who caught a team-high 55 passes for 742 yards and eight touchdowns. Ross was only outdone by fellow wideout Tee Higgins who caught three fewer passes but went for 1,082 yards and had 13 touchdown receptions this year.
On the ground, the Tigers are similar to the Buckeyes with two talented running backs. Junior Travis Etienne played the J.K. Dobbins role as the starter, rushing for 1,500 yards and 17 touchdowns on 182 carries. Sophomore Lyn-J Dixon still had a productive year -- like Ohio State's Master Teague -- with 102 carries for 619 yards and six scores.
Defensively, Clemson does things differently than last year's national championship team but still ranks first in the country in total defense. Defensive coordinator Brent Venables utilizes the versatile Isaiah Simmons, lining the junior up at linebacker, safety and defensive end at various points throughout the season. Simmons leads the Tigers with 93 total tackles, as well as recording six sacks, six passes defended and two interceptions.
Other weapons for Venables are junior linebacker James Skalski and senior safeties K'Von Wallace and Tanner Muse who are all in the top five for Clemson in tackles and allow the defensive coordinator to give a variety of different looks to confuse opposing offenses.
Now that you know a little more about the Tigers, are you taking Ohio State or Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl?
