I have a T shirt that says:
There are two types of people in the world.
1. Those who can extrapolate from limited data.
My kid gave it to me. I'm surprised what reactions I get from it. My favorite is a Bank of Dad T shirt.

I have another one that spells NERD using the symbols from the periodic table.
They use Deuterium for the D. Â
My kids buy me a lot of T shirts. They think I'm weird.

Something humans tend to do is simplify groups into specific characteristics, this group is like this and that group is like that. So, we will hear "People of this sort are always like this." Reality is different and more complex. People of PR origins are not all the same, nor are blacks or Asians or Japanese, at least in my experience, and these prejudices don't often serve a useful purpose in life.
We had an undergrad in our lab one summer from UNC-W who talked like the biggest hick you could imagine. I thought he was dumber than a rock because of his accent and way of carrying himself and origins. Turns out he was probably the best undergrad we ever had, and he went on to get his PhD at UNC later. Another guy similar to that was a buddy of mine in undergrad, drove a jacked up Mustang and we drank beer a lot, he was from small town in GA, talked like an ignorant hick, was very smart, voted for McGovern, and was very liberal (for the times).

I will try to out-nerd you CD!- I have a tshirt that just has the full Periodic Table printed on it, no funny message. I also have one that quotes the Newton's Law of Gravity and underneath it says........ It's not just a good idea, it's the Law!
