The Democrats are chasing impeachment in Congress like a dachshund chasing a Subaru. What do they think they†re going to do with it once they catch it?
If impeached, he will follow the precedent set by Bill Clinton...
1. ignore calls to resign
2. win in the Senate
3. claim that his tormentors wasted the people†s time and money
Clinton†s approval rating rose by double digits as the process played out and Americans decided he was being needlessly put through a wringer. The lesson that should have learned: If you can†t make your impeachment bipartisan, don†t bother.
One doesn†t normally look to The New York Times for pushback to the Resistance, but this week the Paper of Record made an honest attempt to break outside the Acela corridor and ask Americans outside the political class what they think of impeaching the president. What they found was very little interest in impeachment. A recent poll showed 57 percent opposition to impeachment, and the Times†reporting suggests that figure isn†t going to shift much.

There was smoking gun evidence that Clinton lied under oath and the senate still refused to convict.  This nonsense is DOA in the senate.  If I was Mitch I would refuse to even take it up.  Just complete nonsense.  The whole thing

From Eric Trump:
As much as Democrats claim an impeachment inquiry will be a unifying issue for their caucus, the son of President Donald Trump claims it has been a watershed fundraiser for the 2020 campaign, according to the N.Y. Post. Eric Trump tweeted Friday night: "UPDATE: We have now raised almost $15 million in small dollar donations (including 50,000 NEW donors) since @SpeakerPelosi started this impeachment charade 72 hrs ago! Unbelievable numbers!! Keep it going — you and the dems are handing @realDonaldTrump the win in 2020!" The middle son of the president thanked Democrats for motivating Republican donors just one day earlier, tweeting Thursday: "A BIG thank you to @SpeakerPelosi and the Democrats – in the last 48 hours we have raised $8.5 million dollars in small dollar donations. People are sick of your nonsense but please keep it up — you are handing @realDonaldTrump the win in 2020!"

They put all of their eggs into a single basket and it's not working for them. They have nothing to fall back on but giving away freebies. I think American taxpayers are smarter than they give them credit for.

They will double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, sextuple, etc. on that strategy too.

The Swamp is going to continue to protect itself. I think Trump is getting frustrated now with Barr and that is one reason he brought up the Biden corruption with Ukraine leadership. If Barr won't investigate Biden maybe he can get the Ukraine to.

Democrats are saying "weeks not months". Let's give them ten weeks to come up with a something, so nearly Christmas. Then the House would have to vote on A of I, presuming they don't find a way to avoid it. First of the year. Senate trial in January, probably last a week.
Now, let's imagine it goes on longer than that, in "inquiry". The natives get restless, and dubious, and angry. Imagine the A of I does not pass the House? Calamity.
What would Pelosi do if she counts noses and lacks the votes? Shirley she would not put it forward. Â
Curious, to me, sequence of events. Can this "blower of the whistle" remain anonymous throughout? I doubt it.

Maybe they want to take the attention off of their awful candidate slate by focusing on the AofI. The longer they can hide that bunch of boobs from the larger American Public the better from their perspective.
Pelosi's "official impeachment inquiry†is not a real thing and doesn't actually exist. She has repackaged a run-of-the-mill committee investigation, nothing more. I expect her to slow walk this... she knows thereâ€s nothing illegal or improper here. She knows there was no quid pro quo. Thus, Schiff, Pelosi, Nadler, et al... will continue the Sunday-softball-interview-circuit where they can lie, make additional accusations, create new narratives, etc etc etc... with impunity.

Usually, hiding a bad candidate somehow is not a good strategy.
Making the opponent look evil is of course. But they did this far too early I think.

And they will bring anti-Trump witnesses before their committees and leak whatever they can to damage Trump. And of course they will not subpoena Hunter Biden so he can explain the valuable work he does for the Ukraine company that pays him all that money for his "expertise". Meanwhile Barr is counting the days until the election with his thumb up his ass.

HT....you can bash Barr, and Sessions before him, all you want, but they both serve(d) at the pleasure of the President. At some point Trump has to have the responsibility for putting Swamp people in there....

This has been explained before and I know you read it. It's not as simple as you want to make it appear.

It's just his usual boring litany of excuses. Everyone but Trump is bad, even folks Trump put there. It's his explanation as to why Trump is "failing" in effect. Boring.
Couple that with the professed belief that in five years the country will be finished and it's even more boring.
If that were really the case and I believed it, I'd be arranging to move somewhere else.
