People were upset, rightfully so, when the Obama Administration did this with the IRS and other organizations. Using the IRS to target people who were innocent doesn't seem to be the same as using the office of president to stop corruption in another nation to me.  If I were Trump I'd want Biden to get the nomination. which goes directly to the heart of the issue here. Intent. If his intent was to gain political sway over a rival, I think he's wrong, even in doing an ultimate right. If his intent is to stop corruption, I have no issue with this. I have no way of discerning his intent.

Comparing what the Obama admin did (IRS, FBI database, etc) to what Trump or Biden did misses the mark imo...

I don't see the Dem reasoning here. I know, I know. But anyway either impeachment fails and they look stupid and hysterical like they did with Kavanaugh, and that did not play well politically, or they actually get rid of Trump. Which means they run Warren against likely a far stronger candidate. No win but I never said they were smart. Too emotional to use their heads even if they are intelligent. Basically they want to impeach Trump for something that looks less bad than what old drunk uncle Joe brags about. Which of course Trump will bring up over and over. Hunter the cokehead crook will not look good in the spotlight. It'll play badly and they'll look dumb like they did with Kavanaugh and Mueller.

If they were truly serious about impeachment, it would have started months ago. The typical timeframes that past impeachment processes have taken, when applied here, take it beyond November 2020.
