2016 was a GOLDEN opportunity to make real headway.  To make real noise.  To get people excited about you as a party going forward.  Bill effffffing Weld.  Brilliant.

As for the Trump/Biden stuff, I see the MSM is pretending to have Mr Marbles' back.  They're throwing around the infamous "conspiracy theory" line to smear Biden's accusers, yet deep down they are loving every minute of this.  They get grandpa Marbles out of the race asap so they can rally around the next vapid hipster that thinks the green new deal was some stroke of genius

Bill Weld's stance on key issues:
  • Abortion: Weld supports abortion rights and has fought to protect them. As governor in 1991, he introduced a bill aiming to make it easier to get an abortion in Massachusetts.
  • Same-sex marriage: While governor, Weld recognized domestic partnership rights for same-sex couples and signed legislation protecting gay and lesbian students. He also signed a 2013 amicus brief in support of same-sex marriage.
  • Marijuana: Weld sits on the board of directors of Acreage Holdings, a cannabis company looking to roll back federal regulations, the Washington Post reports. He has supported legalization of medical marijuana since 1992.
  • Economy: Despite his more progressive social views, Weld is a traditional conservative when it comes to the economy, prioritizing cutting spending and cutting taxes.
  • Climate change: Weld supports rejoining the Paris climate agreement, according to Boston.com.

That dude is a socialist. He's not anything close to a Libertarian, at least what they claim to be.

He got 2/5 right.  I aint voting for 2/5 of my personal agenda.  He's not even giving me half a loaf, let alone the whole enchilada.  The climate change position alone is a disqualifier.  I couldn't possibly pull the lever for some jackass that buys into that nonsense.

Maximum freedom.  Ok, but there's that pesky murder thing with abortion.  It's LIFE, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Same sex marriage.  Good grief.

Weed.  Not exactly a hill worth dying on, but I have no problem with grown azz adults being allowed to choose what they want to consume (as long as it isn't a drug that leads to violence on others or dependence which leads to theft, car accidents, etc...)

Economy.  Hey, he got one right.

Climate Change.  Ayyyyyyyye

Climate change as in their definition of it:  Man is solely responsible for it; one day in the near future there will be no sea ice at the NP; higher taxes will "fix" the climate; etc...  All that nonsense.  That's what I'm mostly referring to.

Weld says Trump should be executed.

"Talk about pressuring a foreign country to interfere with and control a U.S. election. It couldnâ€t be clearer, and thatâ€s not just undermining democratic institutions. That is treason. Itâ€s treason, pure and simple, and the penalty for treason under the U.S. code is death. Thatâ€s the only penalty."

I can't read Trump's mind to know what he's thinking, but maybe he's trying to prevent Biden from winning the nomination because he thinks he has a good chance of winning.

Trump instructed administration to withhold military aid for Ukraine days before call with president: report

President Trump instructed acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney to place a hold on nearly $400 million in military aid to Ukraine shortly before a phone call in which he allegedly tried to persuade the nation's president to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden, The Washington Post reported Monday.

Officials with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), for which Mulvaney also serves as director, passed the order on to the Defense and State departments in mid-July at an interagency meeting, according to the Post, citing three senior administration officials.

OMB officials told the Pentagon and State Department that Trump had "concerns" about the necessity of spending the money and instructed them to simply tell lawmakers that the aid was being held due to an "interagency process," which continued for nearly two months before the funds were released earlier this month, according to the newspaper.
