The Trump Phone call to Ukrainian President looks to be a dud

WASHINGTON — Facing withering attacks accusing him of seeking foreign assistance for President Trumpâ€s re-election campaign, Rudolph W. Giuliani announced on Friday night that he had canceled a trip to Kiev in which he planned to push the incoming Ukrainian government to press ahead with investigations that he hoped would benefit Mr. Trump.
Mr. Giuliani, President Trumpâ€s personal lawyer, explained that he felt as if he was being “set up” by Ukrainians critical of his efforts, and he blamed Democrats for trying to “spin” the trip.
“They say I was meddling in the election — ridiculous — but thatâ€s their spin,” he said.
Mr. Giuliani said on Thursday that he had hoped to meet in Kiev, the Ukrainian capital, with the nationâ€s president-elect and urge him to pursue inquiries that could yield new information about two matters of intense interest to Mr. Trump. One is the origin of the special counselâ€s investigation into Russiaâ€s interference in the 2016 election. The other is the involvement of former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.â€s son in a gas company owned by a Ukrainian oligarch.

Where is the quote? It's not there, especially the part where MSM and you claim he said, "... investigations that he hoped would benefit Mr. Trump."

Ha ha ha......wow....just wow .  I can't help you on this one.  The denial is strong!

So?  What's the point?  Trump is attacked over and over with a failed coup, a phony investigation, corruption for FISA surveillance,  a media hell bent on taking him down, and he hits the big old dummy Biden with a round house for his corruption which could knock him out?  So what?

Well, there's reason to believe that Trump withheld money to force Ukraine to do an investigation which, based on the time line, was clearly for Trump's personal benefit.  What's the difference between Biden and Trump?

The money was NOT withheld, there was nothing done about Biden's boy either BUT you can read what Biden bragged about with his pressure on firing a prosecutor investigating his boy and withholding money to Ukraine.   Again, Biden said he did it and you didn't object.  Trump whahooyed Biden and you are crying.

We'll find out if Trump releases the transcipts.  There have already been accusations that he did withhold money and Trump already started rationalizing it:

"We want to make sure that country is honest. It's very important to talk about corruption. If you don't talk about corruption, why would you give money to a country that you think is corrupt?" Trump told reporters Monday morning in New York, when asked what he had spoken about with Ukraine's new president in a July phone call.

................

"I did not make a statement that 'you have to do this or I'm not going to give you aid. I wouldn't do that. I wouldn't do that," he also said. "With that being said, what I want is — I want, you know, we're giving a lot of money away to Ukraine and other places. You want to see a country that's going to be not corrupt."

Ukraine got the money that is a fact.  So, you are fine with what Biden did?

OBTW, Trump doesn't have to release anything and shouldn't.  The whistleblower has NOTHING concrete on any of this and didn't have first hand knowledge.   It's more of the same identical to the Kavanaugh charade and the Russian collusion faux tale with the Trump scenario the dems created.

Pitch might be the worst poster I have ever seen in terms of prioritizing events as to their relative importance.  I think he is either perpetually stoned or morally confused and dysfunctional.

Ukraine eventually got the money, yes.  That doesn't mean Trump didn't initially withhold it.

I have said multiple times that Biden should be punished if he used his position for personal gain. So should Trump,  right?

You sure ASSUME a good bit.  They got the money, nothing was done about Biden's boy, Biden bragged about THREATENING to withhold money to fire a prosecutor going after his corrupt son who got money laundered by a shady deal in Ukraine AND China, and all you've got is the crying about TRUMP MAYBE (maybe) doing something you don't like?  Wah...  who is  this whistleblower and tell us how you think it's legitimate.

For what?  Political gain?  Are you serious?  Biden's boy got MILLIONS.   What did Trump gain from this story you can't even prove is accurate.  Biden is not even the nominee anymore than you are.

I assume based on Trump's quotes where he's rationalizing withholding money.

When you're in government,  using your position for personal gain is illegal.
