Why on earth would someone imply-correctly-that Democrats were behind the founding of the KKK unless it was to link the Democratic Party with bad behavior such as this? Unless they were talking out their ass for the heck of it and not intending to make a point.

Ok, but if you read what he posted and what I posted and put it together it should make sense.   He was making the case the cop was a KKK member and republican party member and I made the same 2+2 =5 resemblance.   It's just as likely.   Really, no biggie.

It's not about him being a cop, although that adds to it.  It has to do with the Republican party struggling to separate itself from its image of being a party of racists or, at the very least, the party where racists tend to congregate.  

Let's just say that a black woman/man was questioning their affiliation with the Dem party, and then they see something like this is the news.  It's probably going to drive them right back to the Dem party.

Once again you are just proving the point that black women vote based on pandering to them, media misrepresentations, and welfare handouts.  There is absolutely zero objective evidence that GOP policies are any more or less "racist" or unfriendly toward blacks than Democrat policies.  If associations with the KKK is a fatal blow for black support, as you claim, how can any black justify voting Democrat when current Democrat leadership spoke so highly of a former colleague, Robert Byrd, who was actually a high level KKK official?

I'm not saying there's anything good about the Dem party as far as their platform on black issues.  The reality is the Dem party, true or not,  has painted themselves as the party that "has the back" of blacks in the fight against racist Republicans.  That is the perception and a cop (already a hot point for blacks) is found with a KKK application HANGING ON A WALL IN HIS HOUSE, IN 2019? That is not going to drive blacks to consider leaving the Dem party.
