I have talked a bit with some Bernie voters, and they don't seem to think much beyond taxing the rich to pay for stuff for the rest of us. The cannot grasp how tax revenue invariably comes from the middle class. AOC's 70% income tax proposal would only raise about $70 billion a year. This is why taxes on the middle class in Denmark are so high, including the VAT which is around 18%.

Thanks for the info. I'm not around Bernie types. I'm often around people who would vote for Bill Clinton but not Hillary types. I can't imagine any of them would vote for Bernie. They probably would vote for the Starbucks dude. His name escapes me. Schultz?
DC is a symptom, not the cause. The cause is basic voter stupidity and economic ignorance.

Most Bernie supporters have rarely been to Europe and have a very misguided view about how things work there. The simple idea is it works there, it should work here.

The actual standard of living in those countries is not what we have here.

Damn he is really like "Weekend at Bernies" as I watched and listened to him on a interview.
Sanders looks like he passed away a few years ago.
Then I listened to him and sounded just like the George Steinbrenner character on Sienfeld.
I want Calzones Georgie.

Small well educated, white, and relatively rich countries seem to be able to make a welfare state somewhat workable. Some of them anyway. Actual socialism has failed to a remarkable degree everywhere in all it's permutations.

Bernie got a lot of ABC votes last time (Anyone But that Hag). He won't this time. He will have his hard core of support, but some of them will peel off for a younger option saying the same things. Not only would Bernie be 79 at time of inauguration, he would be 83 running for a second term. Any HINT of health issues will be news.
If I liked his "policies", I'd vote for Booker or someone saying the same things.
He also will get more attention this time, much of it not favorable, he was treated with kit gloves last time around. Hillary didn't want to alienate his base.
