New phone users must now have their faces scanned and photos stored by state in China...
https://currently.att.yahoo.com/news/pho...55097.html It's everywhere, the roads, at the entrance to security to airports & train stations, at hotels. It cannot be escaped. No one complains, they believe it will make them safer. It's a complete non-issue here.
What could possibly go wrong? Outside of soccer mommies, I can't see this ever going over well in the US. This would get punk'd, yesterday. I hope.
It won't be implemented like in China or North Korea. It will be 'optional' to those who want 25% off or buy one get one free deals just for signing up. The soccer moms will not need enticing other than the promise the government will not use it against its citizens and bubble wrap safety.
DC is a symptom, not the cause. The cause is basic voter stupidity and economic ignorance.

Only a right wing conspiracy theorist would ever think our govt would do something like that. I mean, seriously... when has it ever done such a thing like that before? That's crazy talk.  #WewatchEllenandtheKardashians

Yup. This is why naming things has value. Two that immediately come to mind.
Affordable Care Act
Patriot Act

Yes it does. I was admittedly NOT up in arms about the PA because 1. I was in my early 30s having kids and stuff, and 2. We were fighting terrorists and this was the PATRIOT ACT. I mean, what more did I need?Â
Yeeeeeaaaaahhhh.... I no longer take them at their word.  Â
I knew/suspected things weren't really on the up and up in our govt, but the Trump candidacy and presidency has brought most of it out into the open now. This has been a disaster going on right under our noses, but interest rates have been kept low, etc... Gosh, one could almost opine that our govt was tossing us a pacifier while they were implementing all this crap. Nah! They wouldn't do that. This is America. Â

I always had my suspicions of government but being exposed to how the US government works CONUS and OCONUS opened my eyes. It's all an illusion to get the masses to believe or feel it's doing the correct thing. Reagan mentioned "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you" and Ike "Beware the Military Industrial Complex" for very good reasons.
Those evolved to "Just go about your day" after having the WTC leveled. It got worse, too. "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor".Â
The masses ate this burfle up. Contrast to what the masses did when told "Let them eat cake".

The frog with the scorpion on its back never thought it was in danger either. After all, it was assured it was safe. This part of life here is what is the most baffling to me. But 3000 years of emperors will do that to you I guess.
