Can he pay someone to just bulldoze the place? it's the property that is worth something, not the building. Is there some rule he can't level it himself? Probably.

I read abut a case in Dallas a couple of years ago where neighborhood hipsters were trying to force an African immigrant to sell his mechanics shop b/c it didnt fit into the "vibe" of the cool arts district. It's a diner, not a cathedral-let the man enjoy his American dream. Liberals hate property rights............
