Maybe I missed Obama creating a policy on purpose to house kids in cages in order to dissuade their parents from coming here. Also probably missed that. I don't recall Obama trying to undercount the constitutionally mandated census. Missed that too I guess.

I always heard that a bad carpenter blames his tools. The media, our laws, cabinet appointments, relationships with Congress, these are the tools every president is handed.

Stop blaming everybody but Trump for Trump's problems. REPUBLICAN judges keep slapping Trump down. If you don't believe Trump should follow the constitution, just say so.

There was a 3/5ths thing at one time, but no longer.

A state with 100% noncitizens gets counted the same as one with none.

So it sounds to me like we should get Texas to offer maybe $500 to each non-citizen, throw a big census party(s) down in Brownsville and El Paso. Then they can go back to Arizona. New Mexico, Nevada and California after being counted in Texas.

The ostensible problem with asking the question is that ILLEGALS might tend not to respond at all to the census. In fact, they don't respond and get undercounted anyway. If you are illegal, you want to stay hidden. You don't vote, register, fill out forms, have credit cards (in general), you live off the radar of government. Few know about any of this, to them this might be just getting them to sign something so later they can be deported.

LEGAL noncitizens, and they number in the 15 million range, would have no issue being counted or noting they are not citizens.

But the question MIGHT cause a few illegals to avoid being counted, perhaps. They are largely Hispanic, so not some different race.
