We did that in 2015.  Great time.  I still say I want to hike the floor of the canyon someday.  Probably cost a nice chunk though.  My sister said they took a nice raft ride through the canyon.  Calm water section.  Said they had a catered lunch at a nice little "beach" area.   Unbelievable scenery.     If I don't ever hike it, I'll have to give that a try sometime.   Cool

Geez zig it's hard to do links on the phone. If you Google the places they'll come up.

This doctoring thing of yours is getting in the way of your posting.  You need that broom closet, or men's room stall, to get away from those cackling hens for some more quality time.

I'm hard pressed to come up with one without thinking about why I'm there.  I like history, so some places I like are because of history.  Others are for relaxation and others for scenery and others for wine or whatever.

The wife would say Hawaii, the Big Island.

And yes, I own a time share there, but it's easily "transferred" to other locations like Hilton Head which I like in the winter a lot.

Highlands, NC is a place we like in the mountains.  This is an excellent place to stay we found.

speaking of NC......if you like a little solace, there is a town in North Georgia, a couple miles from the NC line that we spent a long weekend in for years. Hiawassee, GA. Tons of hiking, the AT goes right thru there, state parks, boating, and just beautiful scenery.....

yeah, I chuckled a bit when I read that.

Maybe it was just the image of Cincy sitting thru an 8 hour sales pitch....

The comedic possibilities are endless.  I don't know which is more likely, Cincy quietly sitting through the nonsense while rolling his eyes but still being bullied into signing on the dotted line, or Cincy arguing over the finer subtleties of small print disclaimer(s) at the bottom of the page.  etc...

Well, I bought it when I had three kids who were getting too big to house in one motel room. The idea was to provide nicer accommodations, a two bedroom condo with a full kitchen so I could save money on restaurants.

I would opine on balance it was not a good decision, but I make poor decisions in life. However, the wife really likes that we have it so there is that. We try to get something where as many of the kids as possible can aggregate around Christmas. And of course their favorite is Hawaii, but now two of our kids live in France. It's not so easy to get to Hawaii.

It has enabled travel to some interesting locations. We're headed to Tuscany next May for a one week stay in a condo using the time share. There is also one in Portugal that looks awesome but it books up quickly. We use the one in Hilton Head the most for obvious reasons, it's right on the beach for one thing and a 3.5 hour drive.
