People, to a point, are required to follow police orders.  However, people who don't follow orders should have charges brought against them in the same manner as you would for any other legal infraction.  The evidence is presented in court and the courts, if needed, dole out a punishment.

None of that process should include "Police beating the hell out of you for no reason", right?
Always with the stupidity. I'm OK with beating the hell out of people for a reason, like noncompliance.

Right.  That's the problem with people with yours and Zigbee's views.  Until people don't have your opinion (it's ok to beat the crap out of people for no other reason than 'not listening'), nothing will change and cops will continue to stomp on the rights of innocent people in the form of street justice.

Can you think on any other part of society where we would ever say 'it's ok to kick the crap out of someone solely because they aren't listening to you'?
Retarded question. Policing is a unique situation and comparisons are -retarded.

Policing is unique because we allow it to be.  Again, if someone is threatening to a cop or even taking an aggressive stance (like the black guy in the video posted previously) I have no issue with responding accordingly.  When a guy is literally looking down at his phone and is in no way being aggressive toward the cops, there is no justification for 3-5 cops beating the crap out of him.  And, no, a pretty blue uniform doesn't mean you can beat the crap out of someone for no reason.
Noncompliance isn't no reason. It's a reason and I'm good with it. Noting that people not in law enforcement can't do the same is a retarded argument.

It's actually not.  People who interact with police still have the same rights they'd have when not interacting with police.  Cops don't nullify our rights.  That's why they have courts, judges, juries and lawyers.  Cops arrest people SUSPECTED of  breaking laws and the courts determine if they are guilty or not guilty and determine punishment.  Cops don't get to punish people.  Cops DO get to defend themselves, like any other citizen would, in the face of a threat. A guy leaning against a wall, using his cell phone, isn't a threat to anyone.

Florida woman squeezed boyfriendâ€s genitals ‘until they bledâ€: cops

A Florida woman was arrested last week on allegations that she squeezed her boyfriendâ€s testicles until they bled, police said.
The alleged incident occurred on June 4 in Indian Harbour Beach, about 70 miles southeast of Orlando. Authorities responded to a call from a man who said his live-in girlfriend had assaulted him, according to a police report.

The report said the woman -- identified as 21-year-old Katie Lee Pitchford – had become “enraged” during an argument. The alleged victim, who was not identified, reportedly told the officers that Pitchford had struck him “with her fists and scratched the left side of his face.”
An arrest affidavit, cited by the Miami Herald, said the manâ€s face was bloodied and had visible bruising. The man reportedly told officers that Pitchford had grabbed him “by his b---s and squeezed them until they bled.”

He told officers that after Pitchford choked him until he couldnâ€t breathe, he managed to wrestle her away and call police, the affidavit reportedly said.

Pitchford was arrested for battery and accused of violating her probation, the Sun-Sentinel reported. In the back of the patrol car, Pitchford reportedly asked to talk to the victim so she could apologize.

She was detained by the Brevard County Sheriffâ€s office on no bond and will appear in court later this month, according to the.
